  • Patent number: 9761940
Abstract: One or more input signals are used to generate a Pseudo noise generator and re-inject the signal to obtain a more efficient method of control of a receiver using adaptive antenna array technology. The antenna array automatically adjusts its direction to the optimum using information obtained from the input signal by the receiving antenna elements. The input signals may be stored in memory for retrieval, comparison and then used to optimize reception. The difference between the outputs of the memorized signals and the reference signal is used as an error signal. One or multiple Modal antennas, where the Modal antenna is capable of generating several unique radiation patterns, can implement this optimization technique in a MIMO configuration.

Abstract: Artifact reduction method and apparatus, and image processing method and apparatus are provided. The artifact reduction apparatus includes a scaling-down unit, a buffer unit, an artifact detection unit, a scaling-up unit and a filter unit. The scaling-down unit scales down a resolution of a current original image frame to obtain a current low-resolution image frame. The artifact detection unit performs an artifact detection to the current low-resolution image frame to obtain low-resolution weights in accordance with a relation of the current low-resolution image frame and a previous low-resolution image frame provided by the buffer unit. The scaling-up unit scales up a number of the low-resolution weights to obtain a high-resolution weights. By using the high-resolution weights, the filter unit performs an image processing procedure to the current original image frame for reducing artifact of the current original image frame and obtaining an adjusted image frame.

  • Patent number: 9748988
Abstract: An interference wave signal frequency is highly accurate and the interference wave signal is surely removed. A controller of an interference wave signal remover detects the interference wave signal based on a frequency scanning result by an entire-range frequency scanner, and sets a notch filter to attenuate the interference wave signal frequency. A local scan frequency band BWfL of a local frequency scanner is set by having the interference wave signal frequency as its central frequency, and local scan frequencies BINL are set so that frequency bands overlap with each other between adjacent frequency BINA. The local frequency scanner frequency-scans input signals to the notch filter. The controller calculates a frequency error ?f of the interference wave signal frequency from the local frequency scanner, corrects the interference wave signal frequency which is from the entire-range frequency scanner by the frequency error ?f, and updates the setting of the notch filter.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for improving precoder-matrix computations in a MIMO base station. Particularly, various embodiments implement methods for interpolating pilot signal results from multiple calibration transmissions. A subchannel of a resource block is selected as an anchor subchannel and the channel matrices for each subchannel are then determined using weights associated with each subchannel that are determined from the subchannel's distance away from the anchor subchannel. Selecting variable subchannels allows the accuracy of the channels matrices for the subchannels to be tailored where more accuracy is desired.

Abstract: A signal processor selects an element from a rendition of a signal at a first level of quality to upsample into multiple elements of a rendition of the signal at a second (higher) level of quality. The signal processor produces a metric based on settings of elements in a vicinity of the selected element in the rendition of the signal at the first level of quality. The metric defines a boundary between a first set of elements in a vicinity of the selected element and a second set of elements in a vicinity of the selected element. The signal processor utilizes the metric to calculate settings for the multiple elements in the signal at the second level of quality. A location and orientation of the boundary with respect to the selected element depends on the settings of elements in the vicinity of the selected element.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for denoising a video stream of a camera. A current frame of the video stream and a temporally adjacent frame of the video stream that has been previously spatially and temporally denoised are obtained. The current frame is first spatially denoised, while preserving edges in such current frame to generate a plurality of spatially denoised pixels for the current frame. A particular pixel of the current frame is then both spatially and temporally denoised based on a weighted averaging of the particular pixel's associated spatially denoised pixel from the current frame and a plurality of pixels from the temporally adjacent frame that have already been spatially and temporally denoised.
