With Cooling Device Patents (Class 348/748)
  • Patent number: 5808704
Abstract: A rear projection type image display apparatus having an arrangement that a projection distance of a projection lens thereof is shortened and a density of mounting of parts relating to an optical system and an electric system is made higher. Furthermore, a width of a rear portion of a housing of the rear projection type image display apparatus is reduced rearwards at any position from the upper portion to the lower portion thereof, and the lower portion of a back cover is depressed inwards. Thus, a space required to install the rear projection type image display apparatus can be reduced, the rear surface of the apparatus can be disposed on a wall without any gap when the apparatus is installed along the wall, and the overall body of the apparatus can be received deep into a corner of walls when the apparatus is installed at the corner.

  • Patent number: 5801792
Abstract: A single gun projection cathode ray tube (CRT) which permits the generation of high brightness image output. The crux of the invention is the provision, in the CRT, of an optically reflecting high thermal conductivity metal plate-like member positioned in the path of the electron beam, the surface of the metal plate-like member, which is directed toward both the electron gun and the faceplate of the CRT, being coated with a monochrome phosphor and being cooled by external means. The CRT is capable of producing monochrome images which are reflected by the phosphor-bearing surface of the metal plate-like member toward the faceplate of the CRT and, upon passing through the faceplate, may be projected directly onto a display screen. Alternatively, the CRT can produce projected field sequential color images when it is used either with a synchronized color wheel or with a synchronized liquid crystal shutter color filter interposed between the metal plate-like member of the CRT and the associated display screen.

  • Patent number: 5574477
Abstract: A single liquid-crystal display can be used to be either of direct-vision or projection type, if required. Separate display devices for monitor and OHP are not required. Further, power consumption can be reduced, with the service life of the display being prolonged to improve economy. The liquid-crystal display includes a display housing which receives a liquid-crystal panel, a driver circuit unit and a cooling fan, the display housing being detachably mountable in a back light stand. When the display housing is mounted or dismounted in the back light stand, the fan and back light can automatically be turned on or off to reduce the power consumption. The liquid-crystal panel can be prevented from being degraded by cooling it by way of the fan.

  • Patent number: 5570140
Abstract: A projection type display apparatus incorporating a light receiver or a light transmitter, in which the light signal is received or transmitted through a screen or condensing lens disposed in its vicinity, and hence the luminous flux utility efficiency is high.A projection type display apparatus capable of preventing deterioration of picture quality due to difference in color in the projection units, and the best picture quality is realized even when the projection lenses for different colors are composed of nearly same components.

  • Patent number: 5376962
Abstract: A signal processing system for a video camera uses a single neural network to implement multiple nonlinear signal processing functions. In one example, the neural network implements gamma correction, contrast compression, color correction, high pass filtering and aperture correction as a combined function which is emulated by the network. The network is trained off-line using back propagation to emulate the entire composite function for a set of parameters which results in multiple sets of weighting factors. Then, using the stored multiple sets of weighting factors as initial values, the neural network is "re-trained" on-line for each new parameter setting. The use of a single neural network in place of the multiple dedicated processing functions reduces engineering effort to develop the product and may reduce the cost of the total system.
