The display is biased toward a retracted position by a gas spring with a substantially linear force curve between the retracted position and the deployed position. Also disclosed are an infrared sensor for detecting when the display is in the deployed position, a solenoid latch for holding the display in the retracted position, and an electromechanical clutch for maintaining the display in a particular position.

For example, lights in the cabinet could flash to suggest the device is laughing in response to the detection of a laugh track in a sitcom being displayed on the device. Patterns and colors can be generated to reflect moods according to the preferences of an interaction-design programmer.

The mounting lugs having a base portion attached to the implosion resistant band, an adjoining portion substantially perpendicular to the base portion, and a mounting portion positioned at an angle in respect to the adjoining portion.     Abstract: The present invention provides an improvement in the mounting of a cathode-ray tube within a bezel. The cathode-ray tube includes a unitary shellbond frame having integral mounting lugs which are positioned at locations either in the corners or off of the corners. The mounting lugs are formed with tapered sections along a depth dimension to allow a tube having the shellbond frame applied to be simply lowered into a bezel having lug receiving recesses of a complimentary shape. The tapered lug and complimentary lug receiving recess provides self-alignment of the tube before it is secured to the bezel.

    Abstract: An integrally weighted base suitable for attachment to a bottom surface of an enclosure to form an integrally weighted cabinet. The integrally weighted cabinet is able to satisfy load bearing and tip over standards without requiring the addition of separate weights. The base preferably includes a frame and fill material disposed within the frame. The frame may be metal or plastic. Fill material is poured into the frame and allowed to set. The fill material may be any suitable material having a density sufficient to act as a weight or counterbalance, such as, e.g., concrete, a concrete and fiber mixture, metal, or a concrete and metal mixture. The base may further include a plurality of openings to dissipate heat from within the interior space of the cabinet. In one implementation of the present invention, the base replaces a bottom panel of a typical PTV cabinet and further eliminates the need for attaching separate weights onto a bottom panel of a typical PTV cabinet.

    Abstract: A speaker bracket, speaker baffle, speaker cover, and a method for standardizing speaker box assemblies for television sets having different sized speakers using the bracket, baffle, and cover. The speaker bracket is then installed onto the speaker cover using a securing member. Then, a surface of the speaker bracket is mated with a speaker bore disposed on a cover of the television set. The speaker bracket can have a stepped inclined surface that is sized to closely fit inside the stepped inverted surface of the speaker cover. If so, the step of installing the speaker bracket onto the speaker cover includes fitting the stepped inclined surface of the bracket with the stepped inverted surface of the speaker cover.
