Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide for a process for managing continuity of experience between operation of a hybrid computer system in the connected state and the slate component independently in the disconnected state. Embodiments further provide for the continuity of experience for devices operating under multiple processors or multiple platforms. According to embodiments, one or more states and conditions of the connected hybrid computer system may be synchronized with the slate component when the slate component is disconnected from the hybrid computer system. Alternatively, embodiments provide for the synchronization of one or more states and conditions of the independent slate component with the hybrid computer system responsive to connecting the slate component to the hybrid computer system. Non-limiting examples of states and conditions according to embodiments are web pages, applications, documents, lists of recently opened files and web pages, and web browser active tabs.

Abstract: A first device may receive an instruction to add a first marker that identifies a first time index associated with particular content and a particular account used to access the particular content; receive an instruction to add a second marker that identifies a second time index associated with the particular content and the particular account; store the first marker and information associating the first marker with the first time index, the particular content, and the particular account; store the second marker and information associating the second marker with the second time index, the particular content, and the particular account; receive selection of the first marker or the second marker, associated with the particular content and the particular account; and cause a second device to play back the particular content at the first time index or the second time index.

Abstract: An interactive television program guide system is provided in which a viewer may direct a television to simultaneously display a selected television program and a, program guide display. A viewer may use the program guide display to browse available video-on-demand (VOD) while continuing to view a previously selected program in the background. The viewer may browse through video-on-demand programs on the program guide display using a variety of keys on a remote control unit. The viewer may direct the program guide to order a given video-on-demand program, and set a desired broadcast time for that program.

Abstract: System and method for facilitating advertisements within viewed content. The advertisements may be banner advertisements or other advertisement. The advertisements may be included in such a manner that if a user skips or otherwise fast forwards through the advertisements, the user if force to skip through at least a portion of the viewed content.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for editing an audio/video program. The method comprises the steps of acquiring the description information of two program segments of the program, the program segments being in sequence in playing order, the description information comprising the ending description information of the previous program segment and the start point information of the subsequent program segment, generating a guiding information to guide the ending point information to the start point information according to the description information and playing order of the program segments and updating the description information of the program according to the guiding information. With this invention, excessively detailed application editing work and an expense of high buffering cost may be avoided in editing compact disc program.

Abstract: A method of remotely controlling electrical appliances includes the steps of: inputting ID codes of a plurality of electrical appliances into a remote control device; selecting one of the electrical appliances and a corresponding operating command on the remote control device; generating a Wi-Fi signal to carry the first packet; transmitting the Wi-Fi signal to a repeater; converting the first packet carried thereby into a second packet; generating a RF signal to carry the second packet; transmitting the RF signal to the electrical appliances; comparing a ID code kept in a second ID code field of the second packet to the ID codes of the electrical appliances. Finally, the electrical appliance which has the matched ID code performs an operation according to an operating command in a second data field of the second packet.

Abstract: A method and system for displaying identifiers for one or more series of recordable events is described. A system, such as the system of a digital video recorder, may receive a set of recordable events data, such as a listing of all television shows to be broadcast over a two-week period. The system analyzes the set of recordable events data for determining one or more sets of recordable events, where each set includes recordable events having the same title. The system analyzes each set of recordable events to determine sub-sets of recordable events based on relationships between the recordable events of each sub-set. The system displays an identifier for each sub-set of a given set of recordable events when the given set of recordable events is selected for display. A user may select to record a sub-set of recordable events by selecting the identifier that represents the sub-set.

The system providing feedback by calculating total price, production time and required raw video source material as the customer or user makes production element selections. The customer or user is further provided with specific direction as to which and how many raw source materials are to be gathered for the video production.

The additional information synthetic position deciding part 210 selects from a ROM 211 a target value for reading the additional information applicable to the notified standard, and outputs the target value to an additional information reading parts 207. When the standard of the broadcast wave is changed, target values corresponding to the changes are responsively selected from the ROM 212 and the ROM 211.
