Abstract: Methods for determining the presence of an unmeasured chemical in an environment can include receiving a plurality of sensor readings from a plurality of chemical sensors, wherein each chemical sensor of the plurality of chemical sensors is configured to detect a different chemical, determining a cross-sensitivity pattern from one or more unmeasured chemicals in the plurality of sensor readings, comparing the cross-sensitivity pattern with one or more known chemical patterns, determining that the cross-sensitivity pattern matches at least one of the one or more known chemical patterns that correspond to one or more chemicals, and identifying one or more unmeasured chemicals based on determining that the cross-sensitivity pattern matches the at least one of the one or more known chemical patterns.

A request to display media content, comprising at least one frame with objectionable subject matter, is received. In response to determining the at least one frame comprises objectionable subject matter, a determination is made as to whether an entity identifier is visible in the at least one frame. In response to determining at least one entity identifier is visible in the at least one frame, a first context of the objectionable subject matter and a second context of the entity identifier are determined. The first context is compared to the second context and, based on the comparing, a masking action is determined to be required for the entity identifier.

Abstract: This application discloses a method for determining an implantation location of recommendation information performed at a computer device. The method includes: acquiring a target video; acquiring, according to a scene change status of the target video, a target video frame being used for location detection; performing image recognition on the target video frame to obtain masking information of the target video frame including a first region of an object of a target type in the target video frame; and determining an implantation location of recommendation information in the target video frame based on the first region. Abstract: The present invention is intended to permit both real-time display of a picture represented by a non-compressed video signal on a television and display of a picture represented by a compressed video signal at any desired time by simultaneously transmitting the compressed video signal and non-compressed video signal via one interface. An STB packetizes a compressed video signal, and multiplexes the compressed video signal and a blanking signal combined with a non-compressed video signal. Thus, both the video signals are transmitted simultaneously. A picture represented by the non-compressed video signal is displayed on a television in real time. The compressed video signal is stored in a storage medium incorporated in the television, read at any user's desired time, and decoded so that a picture represented by the compressed video signal can be viewed at the user's desired time.

Based on the playout schedule, an encoded second channel is transmitted to a plurality of multichannel video program distributors (MVPDs).

In response to the request, a low quality version of the content is downloaded and played to the user. Then, a higher quality version of the content is downloaded (this may occur during or after the download or playback of the low quality version of the content). Playback of the low quality version is discontinued. Then, playback of the higher quality version begins at the point where playback of the low quality version was discontinued. In some embodiments, the low quality version and the higher quality version of the requested content (among all the versions of the requested content) are identified via crowdsourcing.

Conversely, the gateway function may convert a VOD asset to IP-based content that can be played on an IP-based device.
