For The Transmission Of Program Or Channel Identifying Signals (epo) Patents (Class 348/E7.036)
  • Patent number: 11533543
Abstract: It may be determined when at least one boost achievement condition is satisfied for temporarily boosting visibility of a video streaming channel within one or more interfaces of a video streaming service. The boosting of the visibility of the video streaming channel may be initiated based on satisfaction of the at least one boost achievement condition. It may be determined when at least one boost reward condition is satisfied. The boosting of the visibility of the video streaming channel may be terminated based on satisfaction of the at least one boost reward condition. The at least one boost achievement condition and the at least one boost reward condition may differ for different video streaming channels and may be determined based at least in part on viewership of the different video streaming channels.

  • Patent number: 11184658
Abstract: Systems and methods to select targeted advertising for display are disclosed. Example systems disclosed herein are to access an address of a media device associated with a household, access purchase data reported from a logging device that logs product purchase activity at the household, determine a consumer segment associated with the household, determine an opportunity metric for a first product to be purchased by the household based on the purchase data reported from the logging device and purchase behavior associated with the consumer segment, select a first advertisement associated with the first product to deliver to the media device based on the opportunity metric and a saturation metric associated with the household for the first advertisement, the saturation metric based on detection of codes embedded in prior instances of the first advertisement delivered to the media device, and transmit the first advertisement to the address of the media device.

  • Patent number: 10575057
Abstract: Methods and systems for determining an error value based on comparing an expected media asset similarity value corresponding to a first media asset and a second media asset, as determined using a model, to a media asset similarity value determined from user preference information associated with multiple data spaces. User preference information is received from two data spaces that are managed by different content providers. User preference information from the two data spaces is normalized and an indication of similarity between two media assets is determined. The indication of similarity is compared to an expected similarity value received from a model and an error value is determined based on the comparison of the expected similarity value and the similarity value.

  • Patent number: 10032192
Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for automatic localization of advertisements is provided. In example embodiments, a transmission signal is received. A portion of the transmission signal is identified. A determination of whether localized advertisement data corresponds to the identified portion is performed. Localized advertisement data that correspond to the identified portion of the transmission signal is retrieved. The localized advertisement data is then inserted into the identified portion of the transmission signal to generate an altered signal. The altered signal is transmitted to a user device.

  • Patent number: 9374628
Abstract: Various arrangements for managing multiple consecutive recordings by a television receiver are presented. Stored timers may be analyzed by a television receiver. Based on such analysis, a first television program and a second television program that are scheduled to be broadcast in consecutive time slots and are both broadcast as part of a single transponder stream may be identified. The first television program and the second television program may be recorded to a single file stored to a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of the television receiver. Such a single file may be handled in various ways to reduce the likelihood of any portion of the recording of one of the television programs being missed.

  • Patent number: 9003451
Abstract: An Internet television program guide system is provided that allows a user at a multimedia system to access information related to television programs over an Internet communications link. The user can view television program guide listings and related video stills and video clips. The user can perform database searches on the program guide listings (e.g., to search for a particular type of television program). The user can set a reminder message for a television program that is transmitted prior to the transmission time of the program. If desired, the user can select an option that directs the multimedia system to tune directly to a television channel for a selected program or to a related television program guide or movie guide service on a television channel. The user can order pay-per-view events using the system.

  • Patent number: 7738704
Abstract: In general, in one aspect, the disclosure describes a method for detecting a known video entity within a video stream. The method includes receiving a video stream and continually creating statistical parameterized representations for windows of the video stream. The statistical parameterized representation windows are continually compared to windows of a plurality of fingerprints. Each of the plurality of fingerprints includes associated statistical parameterized representations of a known video entity. A known video entity in the video stream is detected when a particular fingerprint of the plurality of fingerprints has at least a threshold level of similarity with the video stream.
