Abstract: Techniques are described for real time monitoring and tagging of media content generated during a service session between an individual and a service representative (SR). Media content received during a service session may be dynamically tagged with one or more metadata tags during the service session, the tag(s) indicating portion(s) of the media content that potentially include sensitive information. Tagging may be based on a SR's gestures, clicks, keystrokes, mouse-overs, and/or other actions performed in a SR user interface (UI) during the service session. The media content may be redacted based on the tags to remove and/or obfuscate potentially sensitive information.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for presenting additional information related to an emergency alert. A media guidance application may detect that a new emergency alert has been received. The media guidance application may then perform a search of various content sources (e.g., program listings, the Internet, etc.) for content related to the emergency alert. The media guidance application may then present the search results in a contextual menu enabling the user to access content of the search results. The media guidance application may also provide more options, such as, recording or pausing media content that the user was in the process of consuming when the emergency alert was generated, and an option to the user not to bring up the contextual menu again if the same emergency alert is repeated.

Abstract: An example apparatus for encoding immersive video includes a view optimizer to receive a plurality of input views from a source camera and select basic views and additional views from the plurality of input views. The apparatus also includes a view pruner to prune the additional views based on a comparison with the basic views. The apparatus further includes a patch packer to generate atlases based on the pruned additional views and the basic views. The apparatus includes a metadata composer to generate metadata including additional metadata. The apparatus also further includes a bitstream generator to generate a bitstream including the encoded video and the metadata.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards utilizing extended Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) compliant content. A computing device receives ATSC compliant content first data signals and other data via second data signals. The computing device outputs the ATSC compliant content based on the other data.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide systems and methods for rewinding digital content during playback based on context of the digital content. A content rewind system electronically accesses digital content. A rewind trigger is detected by the system. The system analyzes the digital content to detect at least one dialog segment within the digital content. The analysis is based on context of the digital content (e.g., dialog within the digital content). The system rewinds playback of the digital content by rewinding to a starting point of a previous dialog segment.

Abstract: Techniques for providing multimedia content in a virtual set top system are described. In some embodiments, a stream switchover method for UI rendering is performed at a device (e.g., a server) with one or more processors and a non-transitory memory. The server distributes a first stream that includes a plurality of frames. The server receives a request for a user interface (UI) from a client. In response to receiving the request, the server generates a second stream by locating an encoder to encode the plurality of frames into the second stream based on the first stream, instructing the encoder to accelerate encoding of the plurality of frames and facilitating blending of the UI into the second stream with the plurality of frames. The server then switches the client from the first stream to the second stream.

Abstract: Virtual resources may be provisioned in a manner that is aware of, and respects, underlying implementation resource boundaries. A customer of the virtual resource provider may specify that particular virtual resources are to be implemented with implementation resources that are dedicated to the customer. Dedicating an implementation resource to a particular customer of a virtual resource provider may establish one or more information barriers between the particular customer and other customers of the virtual resource provider. Implementation resources may require transition procedures, including custom transition procedures, to enter and exit dedicated implementation resource pools. Costs corresponding to active and inactive implementation resources in a dedicated pools associated with a particular customer may be accounted for, and presented to, the customer in a variety of ways including explicit, adjusted per customer and adjusted per type of virtual resource and/or implementation resource.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for automatically proofing the patent specification of a granted patent issued on a patent application. The method comprises the steps of scanning amendments made to the patent application during prosecution; assembling the most recent claims, based on the scanned amendments, to create a test claim set of the claims; comparing the test claim set to the claims of the issued patent as published; and identifying any differences between the compared sets of claims and communicating the differences to a user.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for preventing a user from terminating a service. Specifically, the media guidance application may generate for display content aimed at preventing the user from terminating a service in response to determining that a user is likely to terminate the service. For example, in response to determining that a particular media asset preferred by a user is accessible through another service, the media guidance application generates the content associated with preventing the user from terminating his or her current service (e.g., discounts to the cost of the current service, promotion or lists of media content available through the current service, etc.).

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system, a method and a computer-readable tangible non-transitory medium for recommending live streaming data. The method includes identifying a set of live streaming programs according to an attribute of the user and a tag of each live streaming program in the set of live streaming programs, generating a first subset of live streaming programs from the set of live streaming programs according to a first criterion, and generating a second subset of live streaming programs from the set of live streaming programs according to a second criterion. The first criterion is different from the second criterion. The present disclosure can recommend contents in a more efficient way and increase user engagements.

The candidate video items in the subset may be ranked based on an activity rate associated with the corresponding candidate video item. A candidate video item with the highest ranking may be provided to the user.

Once the user's subject of interest is determined, an appropriate database is searched for additional information about the subject of interest. Search results are processed and conveyed to the user through a display, speaker, or other appropriate means.

Abstract: A processing system including at least one processor may capture a video of a preparation area for a consumable item, may identify at least one item in the video, the at least one item comprising at least one of: at least one ingredient of the consumable item, or at least one tool for preparing the consumable item, and may identify annotation content for the at least one item. The processing system may then modify the video to generate a modified video that includes a visual marker associated with the annotation content and present the modified video via a device associated with a user to be served the consumable item.

The system may augment user prediction data with time data that is agnostic to one or more timing conventions associated with the underlying live event about which predictions are made. User predictions may then be evaluated on the basis of the augmented data according to the time standard that is agnostic to the in-event timing conventions. User interfaces may be updated in accordance with evaluation of user's predictions, such that subsequent predictions may be solicited from user devices that have submitted accurate predictions. Users may be prompted to submit conditional predictions for future time periods in advance of previous/current predictions being evaluated.

A media guidance application may receive information about an event that is associated with a recorded media asset. The media guidance application may determine, based on the event and a current deletion classifier associated with the recorded media asset, whether the current deletion classifier associated with the recorded media asset needs to be updated to a new deletion classifier. The media guidance application may make this determination by accessing a deletion classification database containing rules for classifying recorded media assets into a variety of deletion classifiers.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for secure transfer and playback of multimedia content enables the secure transfer of multimedia content from a digital video recorder (DVR) to a personal computer (PC) and further to a handheld device. A DVR determines which devices on a Local Area Network (LAN) are authorized to share and/or retrieve content from the DVR. The DVR receives a connection request from a PC on the LAN, authorizes the connection request and establishes a secure connection between the DVR and the PC. Once the secure connection is established, the DVR receives a request for multimedia content from the PC, prepares the multimedia content for transfer and transfers the multimedia content to the PC.

Abstract: A service provider network can enable subscriber of a service with capabilities of performing one or more trick playback modes, such as pause, play, stop, fast-forward, and/or rewind to provide some examples, on media content provided by a service provider network that is being presently viewed by one or more subscribers while abiding by current copyright laws. The service provider network can broadcast the media content to a subscriber device that is associated with the subscriber and can simultaneously store an exclusive copy of the media content being displayed by the subscriber device. And, the systems, methods, and apparatuses can time-shift the exclusive copy of the media content in accordance with the one or more trick playback modes and can unicast the time-shifted copy of the media content to the subscriber device to perform the one or more trick playback modes.

Abstract: A system configured to use keywords to augment audio playback with visual effects and/or other effects to provide an immersive audio experience. For example, a device can detect a keyword and control a color and intensity of external lights to provide visual feedback. In addition to visual effects, the device can trigger additional effects using smart plugs or other smart devices. In a listening enhancement mode in which the device outputs audio content, the device performs keyword detection by monitoring playback audio data for preconfigured keywords. In a storytelling mode in which a user reads a book out loud, the device may perform keyword detection by monitoring microphone audio data for the preconfigured keywords. Controlling the visual effects in response to keyword detection is enabled by a new pipeline that sends information back from a wakeword engine to an audio processor.

The processing hardware is configured to execute the software code to monitor media content including a sequence of moving images displayed on a second display separate from the AR device and controlled by a media player device, detect, based on monitoring the media content, an image in the sequence of moving images for enhancement by one or more AR effects. The processing hardware further executes the software code to render the one or more AR effects on the first display, and transmit, contemporaneously with rendering the one or more AR effects on the first display, a signal configured to pause or loop the playing of the media content on the second display.

Abstract: The disclosure herein describes providing responses to natural language queries associated with transcripts at least by searching multiple indexes. A transcript associated with a communication among a plurality of speakers is obtained, wherein sets of artifact sections are identified in the transcript. A set of section indexes is generated from the transcript based on artifact type definitions. A natural language query associated with the transcript is analyzed using a natural language model and query metadata of the analyzed natural language query is obtained. At least one section index of the set of section indexes is selected based on the obtained query metadata and that selected at least one section index is searched. A response to the natural language query is provided including result data from the searched at least one search index, wherein the result data includes a reference to an artifact section referenced by the searched section index(es).

Each multicast network channel of the plurality of multicast network channels is mapped to a respective video channel and each remote control device in the facility (e.g., hotel) is mapped to a respective video channel that the TV controlled by the remote control device stays tuned to. The content selector switch performs the selection by identifying which remote control device in the facility sent the request and selecting the multicast network channel that is mapped to the RF video channel the identified remote control device is mapped to. The content selector switch then provides the specific content on the selected multicast network channel to a multicast-to-channel output device that provides the content on the RF video channel for the TV tuned to that RF video channel to display.

Abstract: A personal data distribution management system includes source data management devices, a data distribution management device, and a relay processing device that are separate devices and are connected on a network. The source data management device includes a database that stores personal data on an individual subjected to a measurement with a measuring instrument, and attribute information related to the individual and the measurement, the database storing the personal data and the attribute information as original data associated with real name information on the individual. The data distribution management device fetches original data except for personal data, and creates a data catalog. The relay processing device outputs the data, which is the data except for real name information on individuals and from the database of each source data management device based on the data usage request received from the outside, to a data user terminal.

A processing device receives a request of a first user for a first media item of a second user. The processing device determines that the first media item of the second user corresponds to a plurality of second media items of the second user. A set of rules is identified on how to select a second media item, from the plurality of second media items, to be integrated with the first media item of the second user, the set of rules being provided by the second user and comprising one or more conditions pertaining to the first user. The second media item is selected from the plurality of second media items based on the identified set of rules.

Abstract: A method includes causing, at a first time point, an initial view of immersive video content to be presented on a user device, the initial view including an interactive element and having a first horizontal field of view at a first angular direction. The interactive element is initially at a first angular position outside the first horizontal field of view. An input made via the user device is received at a second time point, the input indicating the initial view is to be changed towards the first angular position. A viewpoint of the immersive video content is caused to change to a first view having a second horizontal field of view at a second angular direction. The method includes determining that the first angular position is within the second horizontal field of view, identifying a content creator associated with the interactive element, and assigning attribution information to the content creator.

Abstract: According to some aspects of the disclosure, techniques for compression techniques for the radar data that can be used in real-time applications for automated or self-driving vehicles. One or more compression techniques can be selected and/or configured based on information regarding operational conditions provided by a central (vehicle) computer. Operational conditions can include environmental data (e.g., weather, traffic), processing capabilities, mode of operation, and more. Compression techniques can facilitate transport of compressed radar data from a radar sensor to the central computer for processing of the radar data for object detection, identification, positioning, etc.

Abstract: Techniques for processing loops are described. An exemplary apparatus at least includes decoder circuitry to decode a single instruction, the single instruction to include a field for an opcode, the opcode to indicate execution circuitry is to perform an operation to configure execution of one or more loops, wherein the one or more loops are to include a plurality of configuration instructions and instructions that are to use metadata generated by ones of the plurality of configuration instructions; and execution circuitry to perform the operation as indicated by the opcode.

Abstract: The invention is a patent application preparation system that automatically creates a template application based on a claim set. A natural language processor transforms the claim language into prose and automatically adds reference numbers to the claim elements in the prose. The claim set can be provided in a record of invention form with additional technical information about the prior art and the technical subject matter. Additionally, the natural language processor can work in combination with a parsing routine and document integration program to combine the prose with the existing prose of a baseline document. The preparation system also has an image processing tool that automatically identifies features in illustrations that correspond to the claim elements. The preparation system produces a database of reference numbers that uniquely correlate to the claim elements and other technical terms, and an editing tool automatically adds the reference numbers to the illustrations.
