Systems For Two-way Working (epo) Patents (Class 348/E7.077)
  • Patent number: 10818142
Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods and systems directed towards creation of winner tournaments. Instead of using traditional tournament bracket structures which establish pre-set match-ups between participating players in a tournament at an e-sport event, the present disclosure broadens the scope of participants who may be eligible to also participate within the same tournament but who may not initially be attending the e-sport event. With the e-sport competitive scene, not only do professionals compete against each other during a live e-sport event but remote users remotely viewing the e-sport event can also be introduced into the tournament structure as well. These remote users can be introduced into the live e-sport event for the purpose of also competing against competitive players as well as being introduced as an exhibition match with the professionals (e.g. fans of the professionals selected based on social media).

  • Patent number: 10764473
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products to perform an operation comprising receiving a first video frame specifying a first timestamp from a first video source, receiving a second video frame specifying a second timestamp from a second video source, wherein the first and second timestamps are based on a remote time source, determining, based on a local time source, that the first timestamp is later in time than the second timestamp, and storing the first video frame in a buffer for alignment with a third video frame from the second video source.

  • Patent number: 10616086
Abstract: Novel solutions are provided for consistent Quality of Service in cloud gaming system that adaptively and dynamically compensate for poor network conditions by moderating rendered frame rates using frame rate capping to optimize for network latency savings (or surplus). In further embodiments, the encoding/sent frame rate to the client can also be managed in addition, or as an alternative to capping the rendered frame rates. The claimed embodiments not only maintain a constant Quality of Service (QoS) for the user, but may also be employed to leverage higher-performing networks to reduce operational costs.

  • Patent number: 9729939
Abstract: The invention relates to a distribution method for a multimedia stream multiplexed via a network, the multiplexed multimedia stream comprising multimedia and signalling components, the components being divided into elementary packets of the multiplexed multimedia stream transmitted on at least one transport channel of the network. This method comprises a step of selection of elementary packets of the multiplexed multimedia stream incorporated in transport packets, wherein each of the elementary packets of the signalling components are incorporated in transport packets transmitted on a first of the at least one transport channel, and wherein others transport packets comprising at least one elementary packet and a part only of the multimedia components, are transmitted on a transport channel.

  • Patent number: 8941714
Abstract: A transmitting device includes a partial-image-generator that identifies a certain region from image data, the partial-image-generator generating a certain partial image including the certain region identified from the image data, associating region information indicating the certain region with the certain partial image, and causing the region information and the certain partial image to be stored in a data-storage-unit, an image-processing-unit that executes, on the certain partial image associated with the region information and stored in the data-storage-unit, predetermined image processing associated with the region information, a difference-determining-unit that determines whether or not there is a difference between the certain partial image after the image processing and another partial image generated before a generation of the certain partial image and subjected to the image processing, and a transmitter that transmits the certain partial image subjected to the image processing by the image-processi

  • Patent number: 8842150
Abstract: In one embodiment, a first message for a video call is received from a first end point. The first end point may be communicating using a first protocol, such as H.323. The first message is for a second end point that communicates using a second protocol, such as SIP. The first message may be an early offer in SIP to start a video call. The first message includes media information that is needed to initiate the video call. The media information is stored and may be later used to initiate the video call with the second end point. The stored media information is mapped to one or more messages that are sent to the second end point to initiate the video call using a slow start initiation procedure in H.323.

  • Patent number: 8238573
Abstract: Microphone arrays, which are formed by arranging a plurality of microphones, are provided on a front side and a rear side of a housing, respectively. A virtual focus is set for each of the microphone arrays in a direction opposite to a direction in which sound is picked-up sound signals picked up by the plurality of microphones are delayed such that distances to the virtual focus are the same, and the delayed sound signals are synthesized. Therefore, sound in a sound-pickup area of a predetermined angle on each of the front side and the rear side can be picked up at a high level, and even though there is a noise source in areas other than the sound-pickup area, noise from the noise source is not picked up.

  • Patent number: 8184827
Abstract: Provided is a sound source localization device which can detect a source location of an extraction sound, including at least two microphones; an analysis unit (103) which (i) analyze frequencies of the mixed sound including the noise and received by each microphone, and (ii) generates frequency signals; and an extraction unit (105) which, for each source location candidate, (a) adjusts time axes of the frequency signals corresponding to the microphones, so that there is no time difference between when the mixed sound reaches one microphone from the source location candidate and when the mixed sound reaches another microphone from the source location candidate, and (b) determines frequency signals having a difference distance equal to or smaller than a threshold value, from among the frequency signals corresponding to the microphones with the time axis having been adjusted, the difference distance representing a degree of a difference in the frequency signals between the microphones, and (c) extracts the sourc

  • Patent number: 8135143
Abstract: A speaker array and microphone arrays positioned on both sides of the speaker array are provided. A plurality of focal points each serving as a position of a talker are set in front of the microphone arrays respectively symmetrically with respect to a centerline of the speaker array, and a bundle of sound collecting beams is output toward the focal points. Difference values between sound collecting beams directed toward the focal points that are symmetrical with respect to the centerline are calculated to cancel sound components that detour from the speaker array to microphones. Then, it is estimated based on totals of squares of peak values of the difference values for a particular time period that the position of the talker is close to which one of the focal points, and the position of the talker is decided by comparing the totals of the squares of the peak values of the sound collecting beams directed to the focal points that are symmetrical mutually.
