Patent number: 11256099Abstract: A head-mounted display (HMD) apparatus includes a main body having a first surface facing a user's facial side, at least one connecting part connected to at least one surface of the main body, and a wearing part having a strap form, the wearing part being connected to the at least one connecting part and surrounding a portion of a head of the user such that the main body is held on the user's facial side. The main body includes a first support part extending from a portion of the first surface. The wearing part includes a second support part formed on an inner circumferential surface of a front portion of the wearing part facing a forehead of the user. The first support part and the second support part are supported on the user's forehead, thereby minimizing pressure exerted on zygomatic regions and relieving pressure and weight felt by the user.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2018Date of Patent: February 22, 2022Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Jung Hoon Park, Tae Hyung Kwon, Jung Soo Kim, Joong Kyung Park, Won Ho Shin, Young Gun Lee, Jin Choul Lee, Hyoung Gil Choi

Patent number: 8928866Abstract: A velocity measuring device emitting a laser beam at a web; a photodiode converting an optical output of the laser into an electric signal; a laser driver operating the laser to alternate a first emitting interval wherein the oscillating wavelength increases and a second emitting interval wherein the oscillating wavelength decreases; a current-voltage converting/amplifying portion converting the electric current from the photodiode into a voltage; a filter portion removing a carrier wave from the output of the current-voltage converting/amplifying portion; a signal extracting portion calculating a number of interference waveforms in the output of the filter portion; and a calculator calculating the velocity of the web based on the result of the extracting portion. The laser driver operates so the absolute values for the rates of change, in respect to time, of the oscillating wavelengths during the first emitting interval and during the second emitting interval are different.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2012Date of Patent: January 6, 2015Assignee: Azbil CorporationInventor: Tatsuya Ueno

Patent number: 7349760Abstract: A system for measuring and controlling the concentration of a chemical agent in a solution has a reaction cell for receiving a sample, a titrant dropper for releasing one or more drops of titrant into the sample, a first photosensor for sensing disruptions of light for every drop of titrant released, and a controller that communicates with the photosensor and computes the concentration of the chemical agent based on the number of disruptions of light at the photosensor. The present invention also includes a method for sensing and controlling the concentration of a chemical agent in a solution. The method includes having a sample containing the chemical agent, triggering the release of a number of drops of titrant into the sample, detecting the number of drops released into the sample, and computing the concentration of the chemical agent in the sample based on the number of drops of titrant released into the sample.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2002Date of Patent: March 25, 2008Assignee: Ecolab Inc.Inventors: Guang-jong Jason Wei, Tim Gutzmann, Paul Schacht, Tom Batcher

Patent number: 6242318Abstract: The alignment method allows a constant decision of an alignment point even with an indistinct outline of an alignment mark. An operator moves a chip (2) so that the whole or parts of an alignment mark (1) (including at least angles D0A0B0 and A0B0C0) is included within a lens view field (4), and then decides an alignment point (AP0). More specifically, the operator reads angles which are specified to obtain bisectors, from a defect inspection apparatus; obtains respective bisectors of the angles; and decides the intersection thereof to be the alignment point (AP0). Then, a stage drive required to superimpose the alignment point (AP0) on the center (O) is calculated on the basis of the shift amount between the position of the alignment point (AP0) and the center (O) of a target scope (5) displayed at the lens view field (4). The chip (2) is then moved by the stage drive.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1998Date of Patent: June 5, 2001Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshiaki Mugibayashi, Yoko Miyazaki

Patent number: 5962783Abstract: An apparatus for a rotational speed detecting includes a rotating disc having plural slits in a circumferential direction. A radiant element radiates light rays through the slits. A photodetector receives the rays radiated by the radiant element. Peak detectors detects peak points of the detected signal and a calculator calculates a rotational speed. The photodetector include two photodetectors separated by a distance .DELTA.L.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1997Date of Patent: October 5, 1999Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventors: Nobuo Iwata, Mitsugu Sugiyama, Toshiya Sato, Tadashi Shinohara, Yutaka Shio, Tomonori Yabuta

Patent number: 5508088Abstract: Disclosed are a timing device for controlling machine tools, handling equipment or other servomechanical elements and a method of manufacture. The timing device comprises a timing control element which includes a plurality of transparent windows and opaque windows arranged in a selected pattern and a reflective means disposed behind the transparent and opaque windows for reflecting light. A transmitter emits light toward the timing control element. The device further comprise means for operating the timing control element to controllably select one of the transparent and opaque windows to be in the path of the emitted light. The emitted light propagates through one of the transparent windows, and is reflected by the reflective means only when the selected window is transparent. A receiver, disposed adjacent to the transmitter, generates an electrical signal in response to the reflected light.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1994Date of Patent: April 16, 1996Inventor: Paul-Wilhelm Braun

Patent number: 4927261Abstract: Method and photographic apparatus for performing motion studies on a moving subject. The moving subject is photographed through a rotating disc having at least one transparent aperture and a plurality of filter apertures covered with filter plates. Opaque regions of the disc separate the apertures from one another. Preferably, miniature spotlights are connected to moving points of the subject that are desired to be studied. Each of the spotlights projects a beam having essentially one selected wavelength to pass through the filter apertures and the filter plates. Incident background light, lighting the subject, is prevented from passing through the filter apertures by virtue of the filter plates. As a result, a photograph produced by the camera includes a series of light-streak images produced by the motion of the spotlights and the light emitted by the spotlights entering the filter apertures. Interruptions in the light-streaks are produced by the opaque regions of the disc.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1988Date of Patent: May 22, 1990Inventor: Ahti Rahikainen
