Abstract: A system with for capturing and storing an image of a user's handwritten alphanumeric characters. The characters are stored in memory in association with a standard alphanumeric character set such as an ASCII character set. A text document can then be transcribed into the stored handwritten alphanumeric characters for resembling a handwriting of the user. The characters can be represented by mathematical functions such as Taylor Series or McLauren Series and can be digitally reproduced based on the stored functions.

Abstract: A system includes a computing device that includes a memory configured to store instructions. The computing device also includes a processor to execute the instructions to perform operations that include receiving a request from an imaging device indicating that the imaging device is unable to present textual content of an asset. The method of forming characters for microprint includes determining for every image character a size font taking into account the rules to create small prints, rasterizing a character into a bitmap, skeletonizing the bitmap, reformatting the bitmap maintaining a character legibility, storing the bitmap, and forming halftoning cells from the reformatted bitmap.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus having an operating system installed thereon is provided with a help file manager. The help file manager obtains language type information indicating a language type currently set for the operating system, obtains one of a plurality of help files that corresponds to the obtained language type information from a resource file, and expands the obtained help file into an expanded help file to store the expanded help file at the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus displays a help window generated based on the expanded help file that is stored.

Abstract: Subject matter described herein is directed to providing font-rendering information (e.g., XPS file) that is usable to print a document. For example, a font file is received that defines a font type included in the document. A determination is made that a quantity of pages of the document does not exceed a subsetting-optimization threshold. When the quantity of pages does not exceed the threshold, a subsetted font file of the font type is generated. The subsetted file is provided, such as via the spool file, to a print subsystem.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus and an image forming method are provided. The image forming apparatus includes: a communication interface which receives printing data; a storage which stores a plurality of symbol set tables; a searcher which, if the printing data is a text document, searches for a symbol set table to be applied to the text document among the plurality of symbol set tables stored in the storage; a user interface (UI) which displays a preview image of the searched symbol set table and receives a selection of whether the searched symbol set table is to be applied; and an image former which performs a print job with respect to the text document by using the selected symbol set table.

Abstract: What is disclosed is a novel system and method for preserving user-applied markings made to a hardcopy of an original document and for generating a new composite document containing the user markings which can be reprinted without loss of image quality. In one embodiment, an original document is scanned to produce a digital representation thereof. One or more marked documents containing the user markups are scanned. The user markings are identified in each of the marked document by an iterative comparison between the marked document and the image of the original document. The identified user markings are stored to records. Thereafter, the stored user markings are retrieved and combined into an image of the original document to produce a new composite document containing selected user markings. The new file is smaller in file size and has no loss of image quality during subsequent reprints. Various embodiments have been disclosed.

Abstract: Applications, systems and methods for identifying and monitoring critical colors in a print job and using an embedded color sensing device to measure critical color printed actually printed. The application permits the user to interact with a print job and to select of one or more critical colors from within the print job. In one embodiment, an application is configured to provide a graphical user interface (GUI) to facilitate the user in selecting critical colors. A printing system and method are disclosed for automatically monitoring critical colors in a print job and using an embedded color sensing device to measure critical color printed.

Abstract: When a graphics library performs transparency calculation even if transparency processing is unnecessary, or when the graphics library does not issue an effective rendering instruction to a GPU, no satisfactory rendering performance can be obtained even in a virtual machine which runs in combination with the graphics library. To solve this, the virtual machine uses the graphics library to or not to perform transparency processing in accordance with a content to be rendered. Abstract: The disclosed embodiment relates to system and method for separating background image from foreground text in one or more electronic pages. The one or more electronic pages are compared to check whether the background image in each of the one or more electronic pages are same. If it found that the one or more electronic pages have common background image, the common background image is subtracted from each of the one or more pages. The foreground text from each of the one or more electronic pages is recognized using an OCR. Finally, the recognized foreground text from each of the one or more electronic pages is consolidated in a file. The consolidated file can be printed or send to one or more recipients over an email.

Abstract: Subject matter described herein is directed to providing font-rendering information (e.g., XPS file) that is usable to print a document. For example, a font file is received that defines a font type included in the document. A determination is made that a quantity of pages of the document does not exceed a subsetting-optimization threshold. When the quantity of pages does not exceed the threshold, a subsetted font file of the font type is generated. The subsetted file is provided, such as via the spool file, to a print subsystem.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a plurality of images. The method includes receiving or generating by an information processing apparatus the plurality of images. The plurality of images are stored in a memory, and separated into a plurality of image units. Sequence identifiers are assigned to the plurality of image units, and a first subset of the plurality of image units is processed by the information processing apparatus. The method further includes dividing the unprocessed plurality of image units into at least one second subset of the plurality of image units, and sending each of the at least one second subset of the plurality of image units to a different information processing apparatus for processing.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of scanning a document (e.g. a newspaper or a book) is provided where the text may be legally protected from unauthorized copying, comprising the steps of: acquiring to a memory at least one recording confined to a field that covers a delimited area of a document; processing the at least one recording to perform character recognition; when a character is recognized, registering it in a memory, and performing the above steps repeatedly while recording at shifted positions so as to progressively obtain a string of characters; and evaluating the string against a predefined condition. If the condition is not satisfied, at least a portion of the string and at least a portion of the at least one recording are cleared from the memory. If the condition is satisfied, it is determined whether to provide an output.

An attribute data set extraction unit 12 extracts from the code information the attribute data set containing an identifier stored in the storage unit 15. Abstract: Printing systems and methods for user-selectable dynamic soft font and print stream data template control processing in a printer driver are provided. The system utilizes a print job driver screen that provides the user with a selectable option to convert soft fonts into graphics that are transferred to the printer. When using multi-byte fonts, and in particular when using multi-byte fonts in a character mangling operating system, printer memory may be rapidly allocated and consumed. However, soft fonts persist in printer memory for the length of the print job. The printer system provided herein allows the user to dynamically select an option to forgo soft font loading for the entire print job and instead transmit appropriate font graphics that are discarded from memory after use after a character threshold has been reached.
