  • Patent number: 10999466
Abstract: A first pattern and the second pattern in an original include relatively lighter markings within a relatively darker background. The first pattern differs from the second pattern by including non-printing patches between the relatively lighter markings. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the underlying print media fluoresces in response to the ultraviolet light at the non-printing patches, revealing hidden security printing features. When a scanned image is printed on a second sheet of print media to produce a copy of the original, the copy maintains distinct markings at locations where the relatively lighter markings and the non-printing patches appear because the spacing interval of the relatively lighter markings and the non-printing patches is at or above the minimum resolution of the scanner. Thus, when the original and the copy are exposed to ultraviolet light, both fluoresce the ultraviolet light where the non-printing patches appear in the original.

  • Patent number: 10764305
Abstract: A digital content delivery system transmits, to a client device, a request for a set of verification data as part of an account registrations process to verify that a user of the client device is providing accurate information regarding their identity. The digital content delivery system receives a subset of the verification data and determines that the user has provided sufficient verification data to verify that the user of the client device is providing accurate information regarding their identity. In response, the digital content delivery system generates a unique identifier for the user account, which enables the user to access digital content maintained by the digital content delivery system. The digital content is provided to the user embedded with the unique identifier for the user account.

  • Patent number: 10726533
Abstract: A system and method include obtaining and authenticating image files from users such as insured users at the request of an entity such as an insurance provider. The requesting entity may supply an electronic address of the user and a unique identifier. The system may transmit a link to the electronic address. When selected, the link causes an image authentication application to be installed on a user device. The application takes the images securely and separately from a native camera application. Each image authentication application may be customized for each requesting entity. The authentication server may identify the requesting entity that made the request and identify a corresponding image authentication application to be provided to the electronic address. The images from the image authentication application may be authenticated via reverse image search, time, geolocation, and/or other information. The authenticated images and/or related data may be provided to the requesting entity.

  • Patent number: 10701330
Abstract: An image capturing unit captures an image including an embedded image that is printed on the basis of image data in which at least a color component has been modulated according to additional information. An adjustment unit adjusts a white balance of the image captured by the image capturing unit on the basis of an adjustment value associated with the embedded image. A processing unit processes image data of the image captured by the image capturing unit whose white balance has been adjusted by the adjustment unit to read the additional information in the image captured by the image capturing unit.

  • Patent number: 10675907
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a reception unit and a conversion unit. The reception unit receives as a designated color a color of an image desired to be seeable when irradiated with light at a specific wavelength. The conversion unit converts, when converting image data on an image to be printed into print data, a color value of the designated color received by the reception unit into a color value including a value for outputting a special color material that has absorption properties for the light at the specific wavelength.

  • Patent number: 10599964
Abstract: An apparatus may include a memory to store instructions; and processing circuitry, coupled with the memory, operable to execute the instructions. When executed, the instructions may cause the processing circuitry to identify a matrix code; read a first layer of the matrix code, the first layer comprising a first account identifier associated with an account, wherein the first layer corresponds to a first color channel; and read a second layer of the matrix code, the second layer comprising a set of account data, associated with the account, wherein the second layer corresponds to a second color channel, different than the first color channel.

  • Patent number: 10586238
Abstract: An automated process to determine whether an image has been modified includes receiving an image (e.g., via a web portal), requesting an image validation service to analyze the image to determine whether the image and/or a subject depicted in the image, has been modified from its original form and, based on the analysis of the image validation service, outputting a likelihood that the image has been modified. The image validation service may analyze the image using one or more operations to determine a likelihood that the image has been modified, and provide an indication of the likelihood that the image has been modified to the web portal. The indication of the likelihood that the image has been modified may be presented on a display via the web portal, and various actions may be suggested or taken based on the likelihood that the image has been modified.
