When a user is identified, the priority order is determined so that a setting condition corresponding to the identified user is prioritized over a setting condition not corresponding to the user among the registered setting conditions, and the setting condition information indicating the setting conditions in the determined priority is displayed. The image is read under the setting condition based on the setting condition information selected according to the input by the user of the setting condition information indicating the displayed setting conditions.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus that is capable of obtaining and printing a file stored in a management system, and makes it possible to perform printing with enhanced user convenience by improving coordination between the management system and the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes a printing unit, and a processor that causes the image forming apparatus to function as an obtaining unit that obtains post data relating to the file; and a print control unit that causes the printing unit to print the file and post information included in the post data obtained by the obtaining unit.

Abstract: There is provided with an information processing apparatus and a method of controlling the same. The apparatus sets a naming rule for an image file and determines whether or not the set naming rule satisfies a predetermined condition. If it is determined that the naming rule does not satisfy the predetermined condition, the information processing apparatus warns a user. On the other hand, if it is determined that the naming rule satisfies the predetermined condition, the information processing apparatus generates a file name of the image file in accordance with the set naming rule, and stores the image file with the file name.

Abstract: A digital token has a programmable field in which token type is specified. A method of creating, routing, and performing operations on digital tokens is carried out in a network having a plurality of nodes, wherein each node of the network has code executed therein to enforce rules associated with different types of the digital tokens. The method includes the steps of: creating a digital token having a programmable field from asset data and specifying a token type of the digital token in the programmable field of the digital token; routing the digital token having the specified token type through the nodes of the network to a destination node according to the rules associated with the specified token type; and when the digital token arrives at the destination node, performing an operation on the digital token and updating a record maintained at the destination node according to the operation performed.

Abstract: An efficient and secure process by which users may enter sensitive information into an electronic information system. When information is required from a user, the electronic information system may be configured to generate a unique access link (uniform resource locator, or URL) for that user. The link may be sent to the user via electronic communication, such as a text message or email. When the user follows the link with a web browser, the system prompts the user to enter an additional piece of personal information that is not known to the general public. Once identity is verified, the user may be required to electronically sign agreements. The user is then prompted to enter the required information. This may allow a user to deposit sensitive information into the system without requiring the user to provide full login credentials.

Abstract: A method for converting a facsimile includes receiving the facsimile via the public-switched telephone network, generating an enhanced portable document format (EPDF) file that includes information in addition to image information and communicating the EPDF file to an e-mail server. The EPDF file can then be communicated as an attachment to an e-mail message addressed to the intended recipient of the facsimile. A facsimile processing system includes a public-switched telephone network interface, a packet-switched network interface, a mail transfer protocol server, an input agent, a job processor and a translator. The input agent identifies and forwards the incoming facsimile to the job processor. The job processor determines when an EPDF file is desired and communicates appropriate instructions to the translator. The translator generates the EPDF file in response to the instructions and the image information from the facsimile.

Abstract: An online system generates a set of content item variations for a reference content item that include different styles of text for the content item. The different styles of text are generated by applying machine-learned style transfer models, for example, neural network based models to reference text of the reference content item. The text variations retain the textual content of the reference text but are synthesized with different styles. The online system can provide the content item variations to users on an online experimental platform to collect user interaction information that may indicate how users respond to different styles of text. The online system or the content providers can effectively target users with content items that include the style of text the users respond to based on the collected information.

Abstract: Technical solutions are described for configuring a gateway in an internet of things (IoT) system. An example method includes receiving, by a gateway resolver, a request to access a management console of the IoT system, the request including access information associated with the gateway of the IoT system, the request being sent by an administration device. The method further includes determining, by the gateway resolver, an IP address of the gateway based on the access information. The method further includes obtaining, by the gateway resolver, a management console URL based on the IP address. The method further includes redirecting, by the gateway resolver, the administration device to the management console URL in response to the request.

Abstract: A method for converting a facsimile includes receiving the facsimile via the public-switched telephone network, generating an enhanced portable document format (EPDF) file that includes information in addition to image information and communicating the EPDF file to an e-mail server. The EPDF file can then be communicated as an attachment to an e-mail message addressed to the intended recipient of the facsimile. A facsimile processing system includes a public-switched telephone network interface, a packet-switched network interface, a mail transfer protocol server, an input agent, a job processor and a translator. Abstract: Various techniques for gesture-based community moderation are described, including activating a moderator application at a computing platform hosting a syndication of electronic messages, receiving a signal causing presentation of an electronic message at an interface, detecting an input associated with a position of each of the electronic messages on the interface and activating an automatic action by the moderator application, determining if a non-compliant message component is included in the each of the electronic messages, modifying each of the electronic messages if the non-compliant message component is detected, invoking a predicted automatic action based on the modified electronic message, and displaying the modified electronic message in a different position of the interface.

Abstract: Methods for validating delivery of content and verifying a delegation of delivery of a content, and corresponding devices and computer program products. A method is proposed for validating a delivery of a content to a client terminal. Such a method includes receiving, by the client terminal, an address, referred to as the received address, in response to a request sent to an address server in order to obtain an address of a delivery server of the content. The request includes a piece of information relating to the delivery server. Such a method further includes receiving, by the client terminal, a piece of information relating to an authentic address associated with the delivery server, the information being sent by a server of the content supplier, and determining the validity of the received address with respect to the authentic address on the basis of the information relating to the authentic address.

Abstract: A system and method for an automatic messaging system which automatically sends emails or pages to groups of people with specific data from a database. Other messaging tools may be utilized. The data source that provides information may be any ODBC compliant data source including standard DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, DB2, Sybase, etc.) Access databases, or Excel spreadsheets.

Abstract: A web application of a scan system provides confirmation data associated with a scan data destination to a post source of a scan-related message through a message sharing system. An image processing apparatus transmits scan data and the input confirmation data to the web application. When the input data transmitted from the image processing apparatus is stored as the confirmation data in the storage, the web application posts the scan data to the destination associated with the confirmation data using the message sharing system.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system stores a conversation containing a series of messages exchanged among a number of participants in a first document containing metadata for the conversation; a second document containing message content for the series of messages, wherein the message content includes a fixed position gap between starting or ending positions in consecutive messages in the series of messages; and one or more additional documents storing message metadata for individual messages in the conversation. Next, the system processes a first search across the series of messages in the conversation using an index of the set of documents. The system also processes, using the index, a second search within individual messages in the series of messages as a span query with a distance that is shorter than the fixed position gap.

Abstract: In an image scanning apparatus, an image scanning unit scans one or more page images from a document of one or more pages and generates image data of the one or more page images. An image acquiring unit acquires the image data, generates a document image file including the image data, and stores the document image file into a specific folder. A server unit transmits the document image file upon receiving a transmission request that specifies the network identifier. Abstract: The technology disclosed for configuring a transcoder-router to direct incoming communications to desired receivers includes receiving a selection by a user from an icon-based GUI, of an incoming voice, video, image, short message, or email media type to configure for routing. Incoming communications gets routed in the context of the incoming media type, with the transducer-router receiving a combination of routing conditions with which to determine the routing of the incoming media type: a time zone against which routing schedules are measured; a time window for the routing schedules that covers both time of day and day of week; and available receiver devices for the routing under the selected combination of the incoming media type, time zone and time window. The disclosed systems and methods include committing routing rules based on the user selections to tangible machine readable memory; and using the committed rules to route incoming media type messages.

The method includes retrieving at least one email file from at least one of an external storage device and a file location, wherein a user creates the at least one email file at a computing device; automatically filling an email content, and one or more recipients from the at least one email file in an email job; displaying, via a user interface, the email job includes the auto-filled email content including an email subject and an email body, and the one or more recipients; scanning, at least one document; automatically attaching the at least one scanned document to the email job; and sending the email job including the email content along with the at least one scanned document to the one or more recipients directly through the multi-function device.

The processor then transmits the document to the selected recipients using a modality suitable to the recipient's contact information, which includes faxing the document to the recipient when the recipient's contact information is a fax number, emailing the document to the recipient when the recipient's contact information is an email address, and transmitting the document when the recipient is a network file server.

In this way, a resource specification to be used by the user is dynamically adjusted in advance according to a behavior pattern of the user, to meet a resource use demand of the user, and avoid that the user is in shortage of resources in the peak time or wastes resources in the trough time, thus achieving better predictability.

Abstract: A high-definition (HD) fax system routes outbound fax job requests including a high-resolution component to appropriate destinations, including among HD-enabled receiving devices and conventional fax devices. If it is determined that a fax destination is not HD-enabled, such as a conventional fax device, the high-resolution component of the outbound fax job request may be rendered as a low-resolution fax. The low resolution fax may be transmitted via a public switched telephone network (PSTN). On the other hand, if it is determined that a fax destination is HD-enabled, a determination may be made whether the HD-enabled fax destination is color enabled, and the high-resolution component may be rendered as either a high-resolution monochrome fax or a high-resolution color fax.

Abstract: A multifunction peripheral (MFP) transmits, if the number of cases of accumulated non-transmitted history information has reached a predetermined number of cases or a designated transmission time has been reached, a communication management report (i.e., history information). When the MFP transmits the communication management report, the MFP inputs a transmission job in which deletion prevention information has been set on. Further, when performing a transmission process for processing the input transmission job, the MFP determines whether an error job clear function is executable on the job based on the deletion prevention information. If the error job clear function is not executable on the job, the MFP stands by for retransmission to be instructed by a user.

Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing a trust-based social graph for travel planning are disclosed. Social data is obtained from one or more social network services. Based at least in part on the social data, trust scores are determined between an entity and a plurality of additional entities. For one of the additional entities, the respective trust score is determined based at least in part on a respective relationship score and a respective similarity score for the additional entity. One or more respective connections are generated in a social graph between the entity and one or more trusted entities of the additional entities. The one or more respective connections with the trusted entities are generated based at least in part on the respective trust scores.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure relate generally to a data processing system that optimizes or dynamically content items for transmission to client computing devices. The data processing system can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data packet transmission over one or more computer networks by, for example, dynamically selecting content items from a plurality of content items for transmission to a client computing device. The system can reduce network bandwidth utilization by selecting content items that substantially match the predicted exposure interval of the content segments. Matching the content item length to the predicted exposure length can reduce network bandwidth utilization by not transmitting content items to the client computing device with a low probability of presentation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pre-loading and displaying intervening content, such as advertisements, on a mobile device during latency periods, such as when an advertiser landing page is requested by that device, are provided herein. Intervening content may be pre-loaded on to the device and associated with one or more particular advertisements such that selecting/interacting with the associated advertisement triggers intervening content display during known or detected periods of latency. In some cases, a latency threshold or thresholds may determine one or more types of content to present, and/or a content presentation sequence.

Third-parties may purchase items from the user's wish list for pickup at a physical merchant located adjacent to the attraction. The user's experience at the attraction and shopping history are stored to inform future interactions with the connected guest platform.
