The method may include configuring at least one setting for a multifunction printer (MFP) at the fax server. The method may further include receiving a document. The method may further include determining the at least one setting associated with the MFP based on a network address associated with the received document and applying the at least one setting for the MFP at the fax server.

Abstract: An Internet facsimile machine includes an e-mail generating unit and an e-mail send unit. For sending a multi-page document, the e-mail generating unit generates separate e-mails and attaches image data of a specific page of the document to one of the e-mails and image data of remaining pages to another of the e-mails. The e-mail send unit sends each e-mail. With this arrangement, regardless of the size of image data of the entire document, it is ensured that at least the specific page showing contact information of the sender is successfully sent to the recipient.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for the sending, delivery and receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at a user's site, and a faxing system that may be deployed remotely from the user's site. The fax connector can be accessed at the user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at the user's site communicates with the remotely deployed faxing system to send, receive, obtain status on, or perform other functions associated with, faxing.

Abstract: An image recording system includes: a mobile terminal and an image recording apparatus. The mobile terminal and the image recording apparatus transfer communication setting information about the mobile terminal or the image recording apparatus over a first wireless communication. The mobile terminal transmits image data to the image recording apparatus over a second wireless communication. Each time when the first wireless communication is established, the mobile terminal obtains a signal relating to its position. The mobile terminal or the image recording apparatus creates change information about a change of the position based on a plurality of the signals and sets, based on the change information, at least one setting value respectively for at least one setting item relating to image recording. The image recording apparatus records an image on a recording medium based on the received image data and based on the set at least one setting value.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of methods for associating a document digitisation device with a user account within an online service. The invention describes a method of pairing wherein the online service generates a digital document containing the identifier of the user account in the form of a printable code. This document is then read by the device and dispatched by the device to the management service. The management service receiving a message which contains an identifier of the digitisation device and the document containing a printable code of the identifier of the user account can decode this identifier and store the association between the two identifiers.

Abstract: A system includes telephone and packet-switched network interfaces and a translator. The translator receives messages. Outgoing messages originate from a multiple-function peripheral (MFP) and are received via a transfer agent (TA). Outgoing e-mail messages include an attached file in an image file format. The translator removes and delivers the attachment in facsimile format. Incoming fax messages are attached to an e-mail message. The TA receives and relays the e-mail message to an identified MFP, which discards the e-mail message and prints the attachment. A method for processing fax messages includes associating an identifier with a MFP, receiving a fax intended for the MFP, generating an e-mail message with an attachment representing the fax and communicating the e-mail message to a transfer agent that relays the e-mail to the MFP, which discards the e-mail body and prints the attachment.

A browser activating system, communicating with the browser and a print driver, is used to open the browser to display the at least one selectable service of the services interface on the user interface display. Responsive to selecting the at least one selectable service from the displayed services interface, the at least one selectable service is applied to the document corresponding with the printable format.

Abstract: A method for obtaining one or more signatures on a document is disclosed, which includes: inputting information of a requestor and one or more approvers into an image forming apparatus and requesting signature approval on one or more documents; generating an e-mail from the image forming apparatus to the one or more approvers; forwarding the generated e-mail to the one or more approvers, wherein the one or more approvers can approve or reject the request for the signature approval from the requestor, forwarding the approval or rejection from each of the one or more approvers to the remote server upon selection of an approval or a rejection icon, and processing the approval or rejection of each of the one or more approvers on the remote server and generating a notification on the remote server, which is forwarded to the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: An exemplary method herein operates to help diagnose and correct facsimile transmission errors. The method detects a first facsimile transmission error using an arbitrarily named “first” facsimile machine (which can be a sending facsimile machine or a receiving facsimile machine). The facsimile transmission error occurs during a first facsimile transmission sent from the sending facsimile machine to the receiving facsimile machine. Upon detecting the first facsimile transmission error, the sending facsimile machine automatically contacts a service center computer. The service center computer automatically connects the sending facsimile machine to the receiving facsimile machine through the service center computer. Then, the sending facsimile machine sends a test facsimile transmission to the receiving facsimile machine through the service center computer.

Abstract: A communications device and method for transmitting e-mail with image data attached as an attachment file can select whether to send the e-mail directly to the recipient or via a mail server, depending on the address of the e-mail to be transmitted. Abstract: Methods perform at least two different segments of a scan job by sequentially scanning the different segments using an optical scanner. Each of the different segments is scanned with the optical scanner manually set to different settings. The methods automatically combine the different settings to produce a recurring scan workflow. The recurring scan workflow includes such different settings of the different segments and information of the number of pages scanned in each of the different segments. Further, such methods perform at least one later scan job having later segments corresponding to the different segments of the original scan job after creating the recurring scan workflow. During the later scan job the computerized device automatically changes settings of the optical scanner between the later segments, without requiring the user to manually change the different settings between the later segments.
