Abstract: A communication device has an image reading unit, a wireless tag reading unit, a transmitting unit, a detecting unit, and a data-size notifying unit. The image reading unfit reads image data from an original document on a page basis. The original document has a wireless tag including wireless tag data. The wireless tag data has a data size. The wireless tag reading unit reads the wireless tag data from the wireless tag. The transmitting unit associates the image data with the wireless tag data on a page basis to transmit the associated image data and wireless tag data to another device. The detecting unit detects the data size of the wireless tag data as size information. The data-size notifying unit notifies the another device of the size information.

  • Patent number: 7400428
Abstract: The present invention makes it possible to transmit an image, which has been captured as by a digital camera, in the form of a file by facsimile communication. To this end, if an X bit of a FIF (Facsimile Information Field) from a receiving machine is ON, the facsimile apparatus judges that the receiving machine has functions for JPEG-receiving in sYCC color space and for receiving an image that has been captured by a digital camera and stored on a memory card. If transmission of image files on a memory card has been specified, those image files are transmitted successively when the X bit of the FIF from the receiving machine is ON. Even if there is a main-scan pixel-number change or a color-monochrome change, a PPS-MPS signal is transmitted and the individual image files are transmitted.

  • Patent number: 7391526
Abstract: In transmitting/receiving an E-mail with a file attached to it, the contents of the attached file is to be displayed in a reception terminal irrespective of the file format of a file attached to the E-mail, the image size or the maximum number of colors in displaying the file contents. To this end, the accommodating capability in a reception terminal is verified based on a mail address in sending an E-mail with an attached file to a reception terminal. If the accommodating capability in the reception terminal is not matched to the attached file, the file is converted in keeping with the accommodating capability of the reception terminal, and the E-mail is sent with the so-converted file attached to it.

  • Patent number: 7369257
Abstract: A client terminal scans original images from an original document and transmits a request data and the scanned data to a server via the WWW. The request data requesting the server to perform a 2-in-1 copy operation. The server processes the received scanned data so as to combining two-page-worth of scanned data into one-page-worth of process data, and transmits the process data back to the client terminal. The client terminal prints process data on a recording sheet.

Abstract: A print order/delivery system and method, and a printing system, wherein a previously assigned unique identification data is stored on a user side of the system, and the user is registered such that the user is associated with the identification data. Pictorial data is transmitted to a print-order receiving side along with the identification data and order data, and then, on the print-order receiving side, a picture based on the supplied pictorial data is printed on the basis of the order data. The user is recognized from a group of registered users on the basis of the supplied identification data.

  • Patent number: 7333227
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an image service system that is capable of dividing the service into an images managing service and a printing service while maintaining the convenience to the user. When a printing processing portion of a first managing server or a second managing server receives a print command from a user's mobile phone, the URL indicating the storage location of the image data as well as the printing conditions are sent to a printing server, the printing server and the user are connected, and the printing related processes are performed by the printing server. The printing server prompts the user to enter the printing conditions, ands sends over a network the printing conditions and the image data downloaded from the location indicated by the received URL to a printing apparatus, which prints out the image(s).

  • Patent number: 7310156
Abstract: Conventionally, when due to running out of a battery or paper the printing designated in advance is not completed and when the interrupted printing is to be resumed, the images from the beginning must be printed, or images to be printed must be selected again using the camera. To resolve this problem, a printing system, which continuously performs printing on a plurality of sheets based on print setting information including, at the least, information for designating an image to be printed, comprises input means for entering image data that are to be printed printing means for printing the image data entered by the input means, storage means for, when printing based on the print setting information is halted, storing interrupt information concerning the printing completed before the interrupt, and control means for employing the interrupt information stored in the storage means to resume printing based on the print setting information.

  • Patent number: 7245390
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus which is easy to use is provided. Control is performed so that a CPU (central processing unit) registers a sub-address signal and a communication specification so as to correspond to a memory box, selects start of ring-type multiple-address transmission, and selects transfer of ring-type multiple-address reception. When start of ring-type multiple-address transmission has been selected, transmitter information is added. When transferring ring-type multiple-address reception, transmitter information is not added.

  • Patent number: 7230732
Abstract: A one-side or both-side transmission mode is properly automatically selected in accordance with an original, thereby enabling desired image communication of the user to be properly executed. A CPU discriminates whether effective image data is included on both sides of an original image read by a reading circuit or not. If at least one sheet of original in which the effective image data is included on both sides exists, a both-side transmission of the image data read from both sides of the original is executed, and in the other cases a one-side transmission of the image data read from the front side of the original is executed. When a compulsory front side reading mode is selected by the operation of an operation unit, even if at least one sheet of original in which the effective image data is included on both sides exists, only the front side of the original is read and the read image data is transmitted in the one-side mode.
