  • Patent number: 10264333
Abstract: A dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) decoder may decode DTMF symbols received in an audio input and transfer the symbols to a buffer. A volume accumulator may determine whether the audio input includes audio with volume above a predetermined threshold. The buffer may receive instructions from the timer or volume accumulator to transfer stored DTMF symbols to a filter, which may identify a characteristic of information conveyed by the DTMF symbols and send the identified characteristic information to an output device. The timer may determine a time associated with when each DTMF symbol was received and transfer each associated time to the buffer, which may transfer each associated time to a group boundary detector that may determine a predetermined number of longest time durations in between the DTMF symbols. The presence of a predetermined number of longest time durations in between the DTMF symbols may indicate a telephone number format.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image processing section to process gradation characteristic of the image data based on a tone curve, an image forming section to form an image based on the image data processed by the image processing section; and a control section to control processing in the image processing section. The control section has a function to adjust characteristic of output density relative to input density of image data as the gradation characteristic as a tone curve via a setting screen, saves operational situations at the time of adjustment of the tone curve on the setting screen as a history, and, when the history is designated, reproduces a state at the time of the past adjustment for the tone curve on the setting screen by using the saved operational situations.

  • Patent number: 8982426
Abstract: JPEG data to be printed is Huffman-decoded on a block-by-block basis and is stored in a Huffman decoded data storage unit as Huffman decoded data, image data is generated by performing a later-stage decoding process (group decoding, run-length decoding, inverse quantization, inverse DCT) on the Huffman decoded data, a display process for displaying an image in a display unit based on the generated image data is executed, and the JPEG data is reconstructed by inserting RST markers at intervals equivalent to every stripe width while encoding the Huffman decoded data produced during the display process and stored in a reconstructed JPEG data storage unit. Then, when rotated printing is instructed, rotation/decoding that performs rotation while decoding the stored reconstructed JPEG data using the RST markers is carried out, print data is created from the image data obtained by the rotation/decoding, and a printing process is executed.

Abstract: A facsimile device includes a main control unit and a sub-control unit. The first main control unit is configured to count a number of rings in a call signal sent from a public-line network and to put the facsimile device off-hook when the count value reaches a preset specified number of rings in the normal mode, and to suspend the count and off-hook functions in the energy-saving mode. The sub-control unit is configured to detect an incoming call signal and cause the main control unit to recover. The main control unit is configured to: calculate the number of rings in an incoming call signal in an elapsed time required from when the sub-control unit detects the incoming call signal until the main control unit recovers to the normal mode; and use the calculated number of rings to count the number of rings in an incoming call signal.
