  • Patent number: 11860905
Abstract: Techniques are discussed for preparing and executing scanning plans for particular types of information, including personally identifiable information. A user indicates one or more datastores to be scanned for the particular type of information. A scanner determines scan objectives for the scanning plan and classifiers for use in scans conducted according to the scanning plan. The scanner estimates scan performance metrics and scan quality metrics. The scanner presents estimated results for the scanning plan based on the selected classifiers, scan objectives, estimate scan performance metrics, and estimated scan quality metrics. The user can modify the set of scan objectives or select between alternative sets of scan objectives. The scanning plan may be performed iteratively and the results of previous scan may be used to adjust classifiers or scan objectives to be used in subsequent scans.

At least one characteristic is document length (70), or width (80), or position (170), or other characteristics. An ultrasonic zone (160) detects the documents; and the ultrasonic zones are enabled or disabled in at least one location down the document based on at least one characteristic.

In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a nano-particle metallic ink, such as, for example, nano-silver, can be made to produce a range of appearances from, for example, bright silver to dull oxidized aluminum, by changing halftone level of the silver inks, changing the substrate surface properties and introducing small amounts of other colored inks, such as process or spot, in either an underprinting or overprinting of the metallic ink. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, InkJet printing of a single metal-pigmented ink can be effected, and its metallic appearance can very quickly be adjusted to match a given package design.

  • Patent number: 8982426
Abstract: JPEG data to be printed is Huffman-decoded on a block-by-block basis and is stored in a Huffman decoded data storage unit as Huffman decoded data, image data is generated by performing a later-stage decoding process (group decoding, run-length decoding, inverse quantization, inverse DCT) on the Huffman decoded data, a display process for displaying an image in a display unit based on the generated image data is executed, and the JPEG data is reconstructed by inserting RST markers at intervals equivalent to every stripe width while encoding the Huffman decoded data produced during the display process and stored in a reconstructed JPEG data storage unit. Then, when rotated printing is instructed, rotation/decoding that performs rotation while decoding the stored reconstructed JPEG data using the RST markers is carried out, print data is created from the image data obtained by the rotation/decoding, and a printing process is executed.
