Abstract: In a method and system for provision of image objects in a digital image information system controlled by an electronic data management device, with a first long term data storage device for archiving of pixel portions of the image objects in a first data format and a second long term data storage device in which are archived pixel portions of the image objects in a second data format differing from the first data format, and a databank associated with the two long term data storage devices, text portions of image objects stored in the two long term data storage devices are stored in a first data format in the data bank. The text portion of the queried image object is read from the databank on the basis of an image object query, and using the text portion it is determined whether the pixel portion of the queried image object is stored in the first long term data storage device or in the second long term data storage device.

Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a plurality of sensor IC chips aligned in a row. Each of the sensor IC chips incorporates a plurality of light receiving elements. The plurality of light receiving elements successively output image signals as serial analog signals corresponding to received amount of light upon receiving light from an object to be read. The number of the sensor IC chips is an integer multiple of three. The sensor IC chips are divided into blocks. The number of the blocks is an integer multiple of three. The image signals are outputted on a block-by-block basis.

  • Patent number: 7289250
Abstract: A method of operating an optical module/printer module system through a changer such that either the optical module or the printer module is driven. A first module and a second module is defined such that if the first module is an optical module, the second module is a printer module and if the first module is a printer module, the second module is an optical module. The operating method includes the following steps. In step one, the changer engages with the first module and drives the first module. In step two, the changer rotates so that the changer detaches from the first module and engages with the second module. In step three, the changer drives the second module.

  • Patent number: 7196825
Abstract: A method and system for generating output from an electronic reading device is based on a detected position of the electronic reading device relative to a predefined address pattern on a specially formatted paper. Based on a periodic detection of successive positions of the electronic reading device, a printer on the electronic reading device is activated in a manner such that stored text or graphics are printed on the specially formatted paper. The printing can be accomplished, for example, using a thermo-print head of the electronic reading device in connection with a thermal sensitive paper. Either as an alternative to or in addition to printing, the electronic reading device can also generate an audio output based on the detected location of the electronic reading device.

  • Patent number: 7098941
Abstract: An image recording surface of an exposed instant film is held so as to face an optical head module. Read light (white light) emitted from a light source passes a transparent portion of a color-separation filter, a first mirror, a first graded-index-type optical fiber array, and a second mirror in order. Then, the read light is radiated toward an instant film from an opening of the optical head module. The second mirror is set to a read position where the read light is inclined by a predetermined angle relative to the instant film. The read light is reflected by the image recording surface of the instant film and enters a line-CCD sensor via a second graded-index-type optical fiber array. By moving the optical head module in a sub-scanning direction, it is possible to read an image from the instant film.
