Abstract: A method for redirecting a print job request for electronic transmission is disclosed. For example, a method is executed by a processor and includes receiving a print job request for a document, analyzing the document to identify a document type, determining that the document type is a candidate for electronic transmission, causing a notification to be displayed to transmit the document electronically without executing the print job request, receiving a confirmation to transmit the document electronically, and transmitting the document electronically to a network storage device.

Embodiments address handling remotely-stored preformatted previews of remotely stored content objects for display on a user device without having to store a local copy of the remotely stored content objects to the user device. A user operates a content object viewer that is provided as part of the operating system running on the user device. As provided, the content object viewer includes a graphical user interface for accessing files of the operating system. Using the graphical user interface capabilities of the content object viewer, the user selects a particular one of the remotely stored content objects. Upon such selection, the content object viewer displays a preview of the particular one of the remotely stored content objects without having to have a local copy of the particular one of the remotely stored content objects at the user device.

A second image group is transmitted from one user to an order reception server, and an image group similar to the second image group is found from among the plurality of first image groups. Images similar to images extracted as images to be used for an album from the found image group are extracted from the second image group. The extracted images are arranged in the album. An album similar to the previously ordered album is generated.

Abstract: A technique in the present disclosure makes it possible to accurately obtain a value selected by a user with respect to a selection-type item for which a legend is prepared in a situation where a value entered in a document is extracted from a scanned image of the document. An item name is extracted from a document image, input information input by a user is extracted from the document image, and a legend is extracted from the document image. Additionally, in a case where the input information is unsuitable as a value corresponding to the item name, the value corresponding to the item name is obtained based on the legend and the input information.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an image registration method and apparatus, and an image stitching method and device. The image registration method includes: calculating a correlation coefficient image between a reference image and a floating image; calculating a gradient image of the correlation coefficient image; determining a pixel with extreme correlation coefficient in the correlation coefficient image according to a pixel with extreme gradient in the gradient image; and registering the reference image and the floating image according to the pixel with extreme correlation coefficient. The above image registration method and apparatus have high universality, require a small amount of calculation, and can ensure real-time operation and obtain a more accurate registration result. The image stitching method and device are realized based on the image registration method, thereby improving the speed and accuracy.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention analyze and score each image associated with a group to determine representative image or images for the group. Such analysis can include detecting objects shown in the images, determining the quality of the images, and/or contextually analyzing the images as a group. In some embodiments, each image in a group (e.g., an event) of images can be analyzed by one or more image analysis modules that calculate a score for the image based on a different image characteristic. A composite image score can then be calculated based on the various image characteristic scores to identify the image or images to be used as to represent the group.

Abstract: A method and electronic device implementing the same are disclosed herein. The electronic device includes a touchscreen which may detect a touch input, a hover input and a frequency from a stylus, and display a particular application. The device may further include a control unit implementing the method, which includes detecting, via the touchscreen, the hover input generated by proximity of the stylus to the touchscreen and the frequency generated by the stylus, and execute a function corresponding to the particular application, the hover input and the detected frequency.

Abstract: The invention provides a computer-implemented authentication method comprising the step of enabling a user to input an identifier (e.g. a PIN) into an electronic device having a screen and a keypad operable within a keypad zone of the screen; by operating at least one key of the keypad via an image of at least part of a scrambled keypad which is displayed at least partially within the keypad zone. The user's operation of the keypad key via the image generates an encoded version of the user's intended input. In one sense the invention can be perceived as superimposing a non-functional image of a scrambled keyboard over an underlying, functional keypad. The image may be any type of electronic image, and may include a video image. Example methods disclosed herein include determining a first likelihood of detection for a reference shape at a first distance from an image capturing device, and storing the reference shape in a first group of a plurality of groups in the database based on a comparison of the first likelihood of detection with a first threshold, the first group associated with the first distance. Disclosed examples also include selecting reference shapes of the first group to compare to an object outline detected in an image in response to a query, the query including a depth value associated with the detected object outline, the selecting of the reference shapes of the first group based on the depth value.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention analyze and score each image associated with a group to determine representative image or images for the group.
