Abstract: A cover plate covering a display panel of a display device has a transparent base having a surface facing the display panel and provided with reflection-reducing minute irregularities. The reflection-reducing minute irregularities consist of numerous projections and numerous valleys lying between the projections, and meet a condition expressed by: PMAX≦&lgr;MIN, where PMAX is the maximum distance between the tips of the adjacent projections, and &lgr;MIN is the minimum wavelength in a visible region in a vacuum. The sectional area ratio of total area of sections of the projections of the transparent base in a plane parallel to the transparent base in the plane increases continuously and gradually in a direction from the tips of the projections toward bottoms of the valleys.

Abstract: An observation window of a hyperbaric oxygen chamber includes a frame, and a transparent member. The frame is fixedly joined to a wall of the chamber. The frame includes an outer annular connecting portion, and an inner annular holding portion, which is encircled by the outer portion, and which defines a central observation hole; an annular space is formed between the connecting portion and the holding portion to help reduce effects of deformation of the connecting portion on the holding portion so that the transparent member can still be fitted into the holding portion with precision after solder welding is used to secure the frame in position. An O-shaped ring is fitted between the transparent member and the holding portion to prevent compressed gas inside the chamber from leaking and to prevent the transparent member from falling off the frame.

The shapes of the grooves (16) or other surfaces features are such that they touch in some places (20, 22, 23) and are spaced from one another in others (18, 19) to form voids (24) within the composite body (11) so formed. Abstract: A television projection screen comprises a Fresnel lens sheet and a diffusing lens sheet. The Fresnel lens sheet is disposed face-to-face to a light incident surface of the diffusing lens sheet. Plural concave lenses and plural light-absorbing layers are arranged on a light emitting surface of the diffusing lens sheet. The concave lenses and the light-absorbing layers are alternately disposed in a parallel manner. The projection light rays incident to the light incident surface of the diffusing lens sheet are guided to the concave lenses on the light emitting surface of the diffusing lens sheet and then refracted from the concave lenses, thereby diffusing the projection light rays. By means of providing plural concave lenses on the light emitting surface of the diffusing lens sheet, the projection light rays are diffused while simplifying the structure and reducing the thickness.
