  • Patent number: 10638221
Abstract: Time interval sound alignment techniques are described. In one or more implementations, one or more inputs are received via interaction with a user interface that indicate that a first time interval in a first representation of sound data generated from a first sound signal corresponds to a second time interval in a second representation of sound data generated from a second sound signal. A stretch value is calculated based on an amount of time represented in the first and second time intervals, respectively. Aligned sound data is generated from the sound data for the first and second time intervals based on the calculated stretch value.

  • Patent number: 10564902
Abstract: A tape drive system that uses a tape cartridge having more than one file storage partition, sometimes herein referred to as “virtual tapes.” The tape file sub-system (which controls tape addressing) is identical to conventional single file storage partition tape cartridges, because: (i) a tape control sub-system controls writing of the multiple virtual tapes on a single tape cartridge, but communicates with the tape file sub-system as if the multiple virtual tapes were actually located on different physical tape cartridges; and (ii) a tape control sub-system controls reading of the multiple virtual tapes from a single tape cartridge, but communicates with the tape file sub-system as if the multiple virtual tapes were actually located on different physical tape cartridges. The multiple virtual tapes stored on a single physical tape cartridge are useful because they help circumvent certain “per tape restrictions” that are inherent in the tape file sub-system.

  • Patent number: 9442656
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a method for holding metadata written by a file system is provided. It is determined whether first metadata written to a storage medium belongs to a first group of metadata written intentionally by a user, or to a second group of metadata automatically written by a file system. Responsive to determining that the first metadata belongs to the first group, the first metadata is held in memory using a back pointer holder to differentiate the first metadata from metadata belonging to the second group.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital portable pulse oximeter and battery-powered control method thereof. The automatic switching of the power supply is achieved by adding a Hall circuit, and the data displayed is allowed to always face the users by adding an acceleration sensor to the circuit. The advantageous effects of the present invention compared with the prior art are: Users can always read the data from the front side no matter which way they move. The digital portable pulse oximeter of the present invention can be automatically turned on just by inserting a finger, without having to press the switch button, and cut off the power supply by pulling out the finger, as well as judge intelligently whether to continue the measurement after the finger has been pulled out. If yes, the power supply will stay on, which reduces the energy waste and low efficiency caused by the restarting program initialization, improves the use efficiency of the battery and prolongs the battery life.

  • Patent number: 9380089
Abstract: The system and method for streaming media to a viewer and managing the media comprises an enhanced service routing processor (ESRP), a real time switch management system (RTSMS), a name routing processor (NRP), and a managed media switch (MMS). The RTSMS has a reservation system. The ESRP receives media from an owner, manages the media according to media rules and order rules defined by the owner, and distributes the media to one or more switches, such as the MMS, according to the media rules and the order rules. The RTSMS is configured to receive the media rules and to receive a viewer's media request via the reservation server. The reservation system of the RTSMS processes the media request according to the media rules and builds a reservation for the requested media. The RTSMS generates the reservation to the viewer and to the NRP. The NRP receives the reservation data from the viewer and from the RTSMS. The NRP processes the reservation data and locates an MMS that can stream the media to the viewer.
