  • Patent number: 6987657
Abstract: A device for protection against voltage surges comprises a stationary electrode and a movable electrode arranged facing an arc extinguishing chamber. The movable electrode is driven by a mechanisms, by an electromechanical actuator and/or by an electromagnetic circuit. At rest, the movable electrode is situated at a distance from the stationary electrode. When a voltage surge occurs between the electrodes, an arc arises and extends in the chamber in which it is extinguished. If the arc continues, in particular in the case of a follow current of high energy, the movable electrode is driven to a disconnected position moving away from the stationary electrode, which has the effect of lengthening the arc even more in the chamber to facilitate its extinction and perform disconnection of the circuit. A pair of contacts may be associated in series to the electrodes, one of the contacts being stationary and the other being fixedly secured to the movable electrode. A spark gap can also be associated to the electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20040085701
Abstract: A component mounter for picking up a component and mounting it on a board using a transfer head. A position of solder paste printed on an electrode on a board is previously measured and a measurement result is stored. Mounting coordinates for mounting the component using the transfer head is calculated based on this measurement result. In the mounting operation, the transfer head is controlled using mounting coordinates determined based on the solder printing position so as to mount the component on each electrode on the board. This prevents the occurrence of positional deviation between the mounted component and printed solder paste. Defective mounting, which may occur in a reflow process due to positional deviation, is thus preventable.

  • Patent number: 6373675
Abstract: In a closing magnetic circuit, when a movable contact is in contact with a fixed contact and a switching device is closed, N and S poles of a permanent magnet attract the fixed member in a direction in which the movable contact is pressed against the fixed contact. In an opening magnetic circuit, when the movable contact is separated from the fixed contact and the switching device is open, one of the N and S poles of the permanent magnet attracts the fixed member in a direction in which the movable contact is separated from the fixed contact. An operating electromagnet winding increases and decreases the magnetism in the closing magnetic circuit and opening magnetic circuit. With this configuration, it is possible to realize an operating apparatus for a switching device using a simple mechanism and assure a stable operation by producing a great contact load.

  • Patent number: 4751607
Abstract: The severity of the problems of transmitting high speed data over a regular twisted wire pair are legendary. These problems arise from a variety of conditions, including the capacitance of the wire (which increases with length) and the propensity of unshielded wire to pickup high induced voltages. An arrangement is disclosed that is suitable for short, as well as long, wire distances and which also effectively eliminates the interference problem caused by induced voltages, including those causes by electrostatic discharge. This arrangement passes two twisted wire pairs through a series of ferrite cores. The twisted wire pairs coming out of the ferrite cores are terminated such that one of the pairs is connected to ground while the signal carrying twisted pair is connected to a small signal balun coil, pulse shaping circuit and low pass filter.

  • Patent number: 4414603
Abstract: A particle charging apparatus (Boxer-Charger) is constructed by disposing electrode assemblies each consisting of corona discharge electrodes and excitation electrodes, in parallel to each other with a charging space interposed therebetween. An a.c. voltage is applied between the corona discharge electrodes in the respective assemblies to establish a main electric field in the charging space. When the a.c. main voltage has entered a half cycle of particular polarity such as, for example, negative polarity, an excitation high frequency voltage including fast-rising pulses having a pulse duration time of 1 ns-1 ms is applied between the corona discharge electrodes and the excitation electrodes in the assembly to generate a creeping streamer on the corona electrode surface and thereby form a two-dimensional plasma source.
