  • Patent number: 11773530
Abstract: A laundry appliance includes a blower that selectively delivers process air through an airflow path. A rotating drum defines a portion of the airflow path. The rotating drum is attached to a drive shaft that rotates the rotating drum about a rotational axis. The blower and the drive shaft are operated by a common motor. A heater selectively delivers heat to the airflow path. The heater defines an energizing state when a motor current delivered to the common motor is within a predetermined motor current range that is indicative of the common motor operating. The heater defines an idle state when the motor current is outside of the predetermined motor current range.

  • Patent number: 11183994
Abstract: A delay circuit is disclosed. The delay circuit is coupled to a relay switch that is contained in a power conversion device. When an electronic device having the power conversion device is operated in a sleep mode, the delay circuit applies a time delaying process to a power signal that is transmitted to the relay switch, such that a rising time of each of switch-on pulses contained by the power signal is delayed for a specific time. The specific time is set to be longer than a pulse width of each of power-on pulses contained by a power switching signal of the power conversion device. As such, when the electronic device is operated in the sleep mode, switching actions of the relay switch is properly controlled, thereby making the power conversion device not produce noise. Moreover, the service life of the relay unit is also extended.

  • Patent number: 4774527
Abstract: A printhead of a resistive ribbon printer has a column of electrodes formed on each of at least two edge surfaces. When the column of electrodes at one edge surface is worn out after being used for printing, the printhead is rotated so that the column of electrodes at the other edge surface is used for printing. Instead of the column of electrodes at each edge surface being the same size, the column of electrodes at one edge surface could be smaller than at the other edge surface so as to have a higher resolution for graphics whereby the position of the printhead is changed each time that higher resolution is desired and then returned to its initial position when alphanumeric printing is to occur. The printhead could have more than two edge surfaces with each having a column of electrodes for printing when at the printing position.

  • Patent number: 4642726
Abstract: A molded case circuit breaker includes a solenoid control circuit for controllably energizing a solenoid to actuate a motor operator to automatically move a handle of the circuit breaker to change the operative condition of the circuit breaker. The control circuit includes a monostable multivibrator that supplies an electrical pulse to the solenoid upon the receipt of a switching initiation signal. The time duration of the electrical pulse is controlled to be sufficiently long to assure proper operation of the solenoid and is determined by a timing circuit coupled to the source of operating voltage for the solenoid. If the operating voltage decreases, the time required to charge the timing circuit increases, increasing the duration of the electrical pulse of the solenoid to assure proper operation under low voltage conditions.

  • Patent number: 4533810
Abstract: A start circuit arrangement for a microwave oven including a power control relay circuit which is independently responsive to a user actuable momentary start switch and to a programmed electronic controller to facilitate operation in a delay start mode. The relay circuit includes a start latch circuit, a door switch and an arm switch. User actuation of the momentary start switch sets the latch circuit. A signal from the electronic controller resets the latch circuit. The door switch is closed by closure of the oven door. The arm switch is closed by an arm signal from the electronic controller when an actual cooking cycle is to begin. The arm signal is removed upon expiration of the cooking cycle. The arm switch, start latch means and door switch are all operatively coupled to the relay such that the relay only enables energization of the power circuit for the oven when the arm switch and door switch are closed and the start latch is set.

The solenoid is shunted by another rectifier poled to pass a charging current to the capacitor. A thyristor is connected across the series combination, and is triggered into conduction, whereupon it short-circuits the series combination to permit a discharge of the capacitor through the solenoid and to prevent a current flow from the source to the capacitor, thus allowing a uniform control of the energy discharged by the capacitor.
