Abstract: The present invention provides a plural commutated-element direct-current current transformer (DCCT) that offers wide bandwidth together with freedom from transient disturbances caused by commutation. Plural commutated elements, each comprising a commutating switch and a current transformer each generate, responsive to a commutating signal, a current in a burden, each burden generating in turn a signal representing a DCCT input current. The commutating signal for each element is out of phase with such signals driving other commutated elements. Because of this phase difference, at any given time at least one commutated element is producing a signal free of transient disturbances from commutation. A selector switch, responsive to a selector signal out of phase with all commutating signals, connects to a DCCT output terminal only a burden signal representing the input current that is presently free of transient disturbances.

  • Patent number: 5692482
Abstract: Wirings on the low-tension side which are comprised of a terminal connected to a primary winding, terminals of an electronic component, and terminals of connectors electrically connected to external devices are formed as a unit by means of a molding and formed as an insert assembly 13, and electrical connections of the respective terminals are established by welding. An arrangement is provided such that the primary winding and the insert assembly are electrically connected by fusing, are then bent and accommodated in a case.

  • Patent number: 4494167
Abstract: An inductor included as part of a pulse width modulation amplifier is formed by four coils 9A, 9B, 9C and 9D arranged alongside each other and connected in parallel. The coils are supported against electromotive forces tending to pull them together by insulating strips 10. The coils are enclosed within an electromagnetic shield formed by a cabinet 1. Because of the arrangement of the coils the magnetic field generated by them is confined to a region in the close vicinity of the coils, so that the losses which would otherwise occur as a result of the proximity of the shield or other cabinet are reduced to a minimum. Thus the efficiency of the inductor formed by the combined coils is greater than would be the efficiency of a single coil within the same cabinet, this latter arrangement being conventional.
