Patent number: 7532458Abstract: Fluid drainage slopes are formed at a lower frame part constituting a housing that is provided below circuit board housed inside housing. Drainage ports are also formed at a lowermost part of fluid drainage slope in lower frame part. Thus, fluid that forms in the housing flows down from circuit board and onto fluid drainage slopes to be guided downward from fluid drainage slope to reach drainage ports and be discharged to outside housing. It is thus possible to prevent or suppress the occurrence of short circuits in a circuit board caused by fluid generated and/or accumulated inside the housing.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2006Date of Patent: May 12, 2009Assignees: Autonetworks Technologies, Ltd., Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd., Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshikazu Sasaki, Yukinori Kita

Patent number: 5973914Abstract: An attachment for attaching a main circuit breaker in an electrical panel has a uniquely constructed hold-down for the circuit breaker and a headed screw for fastening the hold-down in the panel. The hold-down is a non-electrically conductive part, such as a plastic. A circuit-breaker-engaging projection for engaging a circuit breaker projects from a first side of the hold-down body and a gripping tab projects from a second side of the body opposite the first side. A shank of the headed screw passes through a through-hole in the hold-down body to thread into a hole in a base pan. The screw is tightened against the hold-down body to hold it, and in turn the main circuit breaker, in place. In such an installed condition, the main circuit breaker cannot be removed easily from the panel unless the screw is intentionally unscrewed by a tool sufficiently to allow movement of the hold-down to a position that enables the main circuit breaker to be removed.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1997Date of Patent: October 26, 1999Assignee: Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc.Inventors: William E. The receptacles are exposed from one or more surfaces of the housing and they are formed of an insulative material which allows them to decrease the initial heat-up time for curling irons by minimizing the effects of convection and conduction. The housing is provided with a number of electrical outlets and a main power switch, all of which are disposed on the front of the housing in an accessible position. A main electrical cord connects the electrical receptacles on the housing to a wall socket. Accordingly, it is a principal object of the invention to provide a appliance organizer that combines a plurality of terminal receptacles with a main power switch, a plurality of cylindrical tubes adapted for receiving a hair dryer and a plurality of curling irons, and a main power cord.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1998Date of Patent: June 29, 1999Inventor: Brian D. Patent number: 5831813Abstract: A breaker box front panel with window assembly including a breaker box and a plurality of switches situated within an interior space of the breaker box. The switches are connected between ends of a pair of associated wires which are situated adjacent the corresponding switch. The wires include a first wire connected to a power source and a second wire connected to an appliance. The switches have a first orientation for allowing transmission of power from the power source to the appliance and a second orientation for precluding transmission of power from the power source to the appliance. Further provided is a front panel secured about a front opening of the breaker box. The front panel is adapted to allow the manipulation of the switches and have at least one cut out vertically formed therein. As such, the wires associated with each switch can be seen through the cut out.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1997Date of Patent: November 3, 1998Inventor: Thomas Gomez

Patent number: 5819405Abstract: Plug-in connectors primarily intended for connecting lighting fixtures into system circuitry, the connectors include selector mechanisms which allow selection of a hot conductor or conductors necessary for energization of the fixtures. The connectors of the invention allow selection of a specific circuit at the job site rather than pre-wiring of a fixture to a specific circuit during factory assembly, a given fixture then being rapidly installed by plugging of the connector into a tapping port in electrical cable extending between fixtures in an installation. The selection mechanism of the invention acts primarily to change the wiring configuration of the associated fixture with the hot leg or legs of the fixture being movable to adapt to a desired specific circuit. The invention further encompasses use of the apparatus of the invention in a method for rapidly wiring fixtures into system circuitry, thereby resulting in labor and job cost savings.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 1997Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Assignee: NSI Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: William Wade Marder, Ormand Gilbert Anderson, Jr.
