  • Patent number: 10841755
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device receives a call from a caller that is initiated as a public switched telephone network (PSTN) call and directed to first contact information for a recipient's device. The call is forwarded using an unconditional call forwarding option to the device. The device retrieves second contact information for the recipient's user device. The second contact information is different from the first contact information used in the PSTN call. The device initiates a communication to the recipient's user device using the second contact information via a communication channel different from the PSTN. The communication avoids triggering the unconditional call forwarding option for the recipient's device. The device connects the call between the caller and the recipient's device upon initiating the communication. The device is in a call path of the call and performs a call feature for the call.

  • Patent number: 10353431
Abstract: In an example, there is disclosed a hybrid tablet computing device comprising a tablet member configured to dock to a base member. The base member may include peripherals and other elements to augment the functionality of the tablet member. While docked, the base and tablet may operate in a cooperative mode, while undocking the tablet from the base places the tablet in an independent mode. A user's intent to undock may be inferred by natural interactions, including for example a user gripping the tablet along its top edge while simultaneously placing a hand over a trackpad on the base. If an undocking intent is inferred but the user does not complete the docking process within a timeout period, the tablet may redock and enter the cooperative mode.

Abstract: A docking system may comprise a case mount for a portable computing device. The case mount can releasably dock and lock with a base mount in any of a number of docking position orientations. A plurality of case mount contacts can be organized into a plurality of case mount contact groups, wherein the case mount contact groups are arranged in a pattern on the case mount that permits a physical connection between a plurality of base mount contacts and a different one of the case mount contact groups for each of the different docking position orientations. Furthermore, an actuator can cause base mount latches to move in a manner that permits disengagement of the case mount from the base mount to an undocked position for the case mount if an undocking force is applied to the case mount.

  • Patent number: 10251045
Abstract: The Satlink Convertor/Communicator (SCC), is a device that converts a regular cell phone, smart phone, tablet, laptop, computer, or any other remote communication device, into a satellite phone or emergency beacon. This is accomplished by inserting the SCC's usb connector into the usb port of the remote communication device; other connector types may be used as well. Once the SCC is connected to the remote communication device, the user may place a satellite phone call, trigger an emergency beacon, access the internet, send and receive emails and text messages etc. In the event of an emergency, and the user triggers the SCC's emergency beacon, the SCC will transmit the GPS coordinates (Latitude and Longitude) of the user, via satellite, to a monitoring service. Further, the SCC can be interfaced to a Base Unit installed within a vehicle, boat, home, or business, to enable the SCC to be operated within these enclosed/covered locations, which normally restricts satellite signals and communications.

  • Patent number: 10248162
Abstract: A present invention provides a linking-up mechanism module and a docking station including a shell and the linking-up mechanism module. The linking-up mechanism module is provided at the shell, and includes a switch, a clasp element, a linking-up structure and an abutting element. The linking-up structure is connected to the switch, the clasp element and the abutting element. When the docking station is in a clasping state, the switch is at a first position, the clasp element is at a clasping position, and the abutting element is at a sunken position. When the switch is pressed to a second position to cause the docking station to enter an uplifting state, the linking-up structure and the clasp element are synchronously driven. After the clasp element is rotated to an unlocking position, the linking-up structure is driven to drive and uplift the abutting element from the sunken position to an uplifting position.
