  • Patent number: 10478831
Abstract: A bioluminescent tornado maker system for creating a pleasing, glow-in-the-dark tornado. The bioluminescent tornado maker system generally includes a base that supports a transparent vessel having a liquid within it. The liquid may be salt water, and may contain bioluminescent organisms, such as dinoflagellates. An impeller in the base in contact with the liquid causes a rotational flow of the liquid, creating a visible vortex and also a mechanical disturbance that causes the bioluminescent organisms to emit a visible light, resulting in a glow-in-the-dark tornado.

  • Patent number: 10450768
Abstract: A universal swimming pool light adapter ring consisting of a two-element interlocking adapter ring for retrofitting a swimming pool light into a swimming pool niche. The adapter ring has a two element face ring that interlocks and fastens around a swimming pool light cord, so that an existing swimming pool light does not need to be substantially removed or disassembled to facilitate installation. Further the adapter ring consists of an adjacent two-element mounting ring that utilizes a plurality of mounting screws to each respective element, which creates pressure points that secure the adapter firmly into the light niche to allow a fit into most standard light niches, including but not limited to, a sealed beam light niche. Two thread points on each opposing side on the adapter's face ring, as well as a mounting tab, allow multiple brands and sizes of swimming pool lights to be mechanically fastened, securely to the adapter.

  • Patent number: 10448503
Abstract: An LED array and driver design minimizes space requirements and simplifies assembly, while reducing costs. A printed circuit board with LED driver electronics has a central opening through which the LED array is mounted. In one form the LED array is a chip on board (COB) array, the array being circular and fitting closely within the central opening of the PCB. Four integral leaf springs are formed into the flat PCB, in position to push the LED array down when the PCB and LED array are attached against the heat sink. Two of the springs have electrical contacts that make contact with those of the LED array. With the LED array and driver circuit on the face of a light assembly, the space rear of the driver circuit is free to be open to air flow for cooling.

A housing is constructed of a heat-conductive material and LED arrays are affixed to the housing, within a sealed chamber, to conduct heat from the LED arrays to the housing such that heat generated by the LED arrays during the lighting cycle will be conducted directly to the housing and dissipated by the housing to the surrounding body of water. Light provided by the LED arrays is passed through corresponding lens members located for directing light in different directions. At the same time, fouling by marine organisms is resisted.

Abstract: An illuminating motion sensing module for a beverage container. The illuminating motion sensing module is removably coupled to the base of the beverage container. The top surface of the module is comprised of a translucent surface with a diffusion texture which allows light emitted from the module to be propagated into the surrounding environment. The beverage container and motion module are placed on a nightstand, dresser, table, or any other flat surface within a low-light or no-light environment. After the motion of a user has been detected by the module, an illumination pattern is responsively emitted from the module and propagated out of the translucent or transparent beverage container, thus signaling the location of the beverage container to the user in a low-light or no-light environment. The motion module comprises a set of pre-programmed instructions for operating the motion module in one of a plurality of operation modes.

  • Patent number: 9775201
Abstract: The present invention relates to a driving circuit (100) connected to a conventional phase-cut dimmer. A LED light source (30) is driven by a switched mode power supply (26), which is powered by the mains voltage through a phase-cut dimmer (10) and a rectifier (22). The current through the LED light source (30) is reduced according to the voltage level of the average rectified voltage Vin detected by a voltage sensor (24) and the on time limitation of the switched mode power supply (26). The current amplitude will be increasingly reduced towards the low voltage levels of Vin, namely towards the low dimmer knob levels. Thereby, the invention allows a LED light source driving circuit (100) connected to a conventional phase-cut dimmer to readily make the dimming curve of the LED light source (30) non-linear for being more compatible with the human eye sensitivity.
