Patent number: 8089221Abstract: The invention relates to an illumination device (1) with a number of light emitters, for example LEDs (L1, L2, L3, L4) of individual emission spectra. Sensor units (D1, D2, D3, D4) can produce a vector of measurement signals (S1, S2, S3, S4) that represent the light output of a single active light emitter. Based on a linear relation obtained during a calibration procedure, a characteristic value of the light output of that light emitter (L1, L2, L3, L4) is then calculated from the measurement vector, wherein said characteristic value is based on the coefficients of a decomposition of the individual emission spectrum into basis functions.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2007Date of Patent: January 3, 2012Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.Inventors: Volkmar Schulz, Christoph Martiny

Patent number: 6722771Abstract: A hand held light for traffic control using an array of light sources such as colored light LEDs or lasers which either a red set or green set are energized by operation of a trigger switch. A third set of yellow light emitting light sources are also optionally operated, as well as a spot light mounted within the array of light sources. A position switch prevents energizing the red or green light sources so that arm motion can also be used to control the light sources.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2000Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Inventor: Eugene Stephens

Patent number: 6715911Abstract: An image locking jewelry device designed to hide a customized image from view until the wearer reveals the image. The image unlocking jewelry device collectively including a lens mated to a casing and housing a liquid crystal display; circuitry placed inside the casing and capable of sending signals to the liquid crystal display; and an image positioned between the lens and said circuitry. Voltage is sent from the circuitry to the liquid crystal display in order to reveal the image held underneath the lens. The unlocking process can either be electromechanical or electromagnetic. If electromechanical, a series of buttons positioned around the device can be pressed in a particular sequence in order to send a voltage that uncovers the image held within the jewelry device itself or held inside a companion device. Otherwise, a magnetic resonance frequency can be sensed from the companion device, sending a signal to unlock the wearer's device.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2002Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Inventors: Jose I. Publication number: 20030193799Abstract: A lighting assembly for improving the performance of undercabinet and streamlined lighting includes a LED module onto which is mounted a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs serve as the light source for generating a light pattern. An optical assembly focuses and disperses the LED output to a desired light contour. The lighting assembly further includes a mounting base for attaching the LED module to an associated surface, such as the underside of a cabinet. A battery source is optionally enclosed in the module for providing primary or secondary power to the lighting assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the battery source is a rechargeable battery that can be recharged by means of an AC adapter that connects to the lighting assembly.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2002Publication date: October 16, 2003Applicant: GELcore, LLCInventor: Christopher L. Patent number: 6491415Abstract: A globe lighting assembly comprises a metal cage, a plastic globe at least partially surrounded by the metal cage, a reflector reflecting light from a light source throughout the globe, and a socket clip disposable into the reflector. The socket clip includes legs having at least one position along each of the legs corresponding to settings for the light source in the reflector. The metal cage has lower and upper rings, and prongs which all surround and give structural support for at least one of an upper portion and a lower door of the globe. The upper portion is hingedly connected to the lower door. The lower door has a circular rim that fits into an inner surface of the lower ring when the globe is in the closed position. As a result, the circular rim of the lower portion is not viewable from the outside of the globe. The lower ring of the cage has an inner circular lip that aids in preventing moisture from entering an interior of the globe.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2000Date of Patent: December 10, 2002Assignee: U.S. Pole Company, Inc.Inventor: Angel M.
