    Abstract: A motor vehicle headlight with a reflector consisting of two partial paraboloids arranged one above the other, which have at least approximately a common axis and of which the focus of the upper partial paraboloid is located closer to the apeces of the two partial paraboloids; a first filament for the low beam is located between the two foci of the two partial paraboloids while a second filament for the high beam is located in the focus of the lower partial paraboloid; the light emitted by the high-beam filament in the direction toward the upper partial paraboloid is shielded by a covering arranged on top of the high beam filament.

One end of its tubular handle defines a receptable receiving a spacer block to which is slip-fit a lamp socket and switch device received and frictionally clamped in their required position as a diametral split in the outer end portion of the receptacle wall structure accommodates laterally projected portions of the included switch.A sleeve-like insert applied in receptacle and portion of the handle forms substantially dead air space within its interior wall surface which insulates the body of the inserted lamp socket.A preferred lamp or bulb cage for use with the handle which permits soft light to pass and provides vents including air flow facilitating the escape of heat.The handle also incorporates plate-like projections which shield the switch operator and preclude direct impact thereof.

    Abstract: A combination trouble lamp and emergency flasher which is adapted to be connected directly to the terminals of a vehicle battery. The device comprises an adaptor cable having a pair of spring biased battery clamps which connect to a female twist-to-lock connector through a pair of heavy gauge insulated cables. The lamp comprises a housing having a socket in which a DC electric light bulb is received, an arcuate reflector made of a highly visible translucent plastic material behind the bulb, and a protective cage hingedly connected to the reflector and positioned in front of the bulb. The lamp includes a relatively long, light gauge power cord which terminates in a male twist-to-lock plug adapted for connection to the receptacle of the adaptor leads.
