  • Patent number: 6685344
Abstract: A lamp shade assembly includes a foldable shade having an upper edge and a lower edge to define an inner cavity therebetween, a top frame mounted at the upper edge of the foldable shade, a bottom frame mounted at the lower edge of the foldable shade, and a supporting frame detachably mounted between the top frame and the bottom frame within the inner cavity of the foldable shade for applying a stretching force on the foldable shade. The stretching force of the supporting frame is greater than a weight of the foldable shade, so that the foldable shade is stretched to provide a tension surface extending between the upper edge and the lower edge thereof, so as to form a collapsible lamp shade which is facilitated to be disassembled into a compact unit for storage and carriage and quickly assembled to tensely support a foldable shade.

  • Patent number: 6683719
Abstract: A light diffuser, consisting of a holding mechanism and, releasably connected thereto, an inflatable sack that is at least partially translucent. The holding mechanism comprises an adapter ring that at one end serves for attachment to a spotlight and at the other end as a receptable of the sack. The adapter ring is closed off at the attachment end so as to be translucent and pressure sealed. At the holding mechanism means are provided for supply of a gaseous filling medium. Arranged at the adapter ring are a compressed-gas connection and an electronically actuatable valve for the gas supply, such that a first pressure sensor determines the increasing of pressure within the sack fixed to the ring and sends a switch-off signal to the valve when a preset maximal pressure value has been reached, in order to terminate or interrupt filling automatically.

Abstract: A collapsible lamp shade includes a rigid upper structure assembly; a rigid lower structure; a flexible fabric; and, a plurality of plurality of trapezoidal frames. The rigid upper structure assembly includes a rigid upper structure; a plurality of angled arms extending radially inwardly from the rigid upper structure; and a central element. Each angled arm has a first end and a second end. The central element is positioned at a central portion of the rigid upper structure assembly. It secures the first ends of the plurality of angled arms. The second ends of the angled arms have short columns being secured to the rigid upper structure. The short columns are angled upwardly. The flexible fabric joins the rigid upper structure with the rigid lower structure. Each trapezoidal frame has a top parallel edge and a bottom parallel edge. The top parallel edge and bottom parallel edge are joined by side members. The top parallel edge has a notch formed in a section thereof.

Abstract: A lampshade includes a collapsible frame to which a flexible cover is attached. The frame includes an upper ring and a lower ring. A plurality of support bars are arranged between the upper and lower rings. Each support bar includes an upper section and a lower section hinged to each other. The upper section of the support bar has an end hinged to the upper ring. The lower section of the support bar has an end hinged to the lower ring. The hinge connections between the upper and lower sections of the support bar and between the support bar and the upper and lower rings allow the frame to collapse without separating the parts from each other. A channel member is partially fixed to the upper section of the support bar for partially receiving the lower section of the support bar. Dimples are defined in the lower section of the support for engaging with bosses formed on the channel member for maintaining the support bar in an extended condition.
