Collapsible Or Folding Patents (Class 362/352)
  • Patent number: 4075472
Abstract: A reflector apparatus for reflecting light produced by a flash light apparatus such as a flash bulb, an electronic flash apparatus or the like, comprises a sealable container capable of tightly containing a gas therein. The container is in the form of a substantially spherical configuration when inflated and is made of a soft and flexible material, a half portion of which is transparent while the other half portion reflects light. The light rays from the flash apparatus are transmitted through the transparent portion and are reflected by the reflecting portion toward an object to be illuminated.

  • Patent number: 4075684
Abstract: The lampshade includes flexible material which can be unrolled to form a relatively large cylindrical shade. Upper and lower hoops are formed of flexible strip material by unspiralling the strip material and connecting its ends together thus holding the upper and lower interior portions of the shade in circular positions. A spider assembly is made up of three elongated flat arms pivoted together and arranged to be scissored apart to radially extend at 120.degree.. The ends of these arms cradle portions of the upper hoop on the interior of the shade to provide a central mount for securing the shade to a lamp.

  • Patent number: 4070569
Abstract: A louver attachment for lights is constructed so that it is collapsible and portable to permit its use in a variety of applications wherein it is placed over the front of a light source to limit lateral distribution of the light. This configuration is advantageously used in connection with photographer's lighting systems. A framework is provided having two oppositely positioned parallel horizontal members having a series of openings along their lengths. A pair of parallel vertical side members connect corresponding ends of horizontal members together. The interconnections are allowed to pivot so that the parallelogram shaped structure may be collapsed. A wide ribbon is then woven between the horizontal members passing through the openings to form louvers. The ribbon is secured at either end to the framework. Conventional methods of attachment serve to attach the louver attachment over the front of a light source.

  • Patent number: 4061913
Abstract: A lamp shade assembly in which a series of ribs and annular spacers for the ribs are adapted to stack together as a pack but, when assembled on the spacers form an annular lamp shade. The spacers have an interlocking configuration for the ribs at spaced intervals arranged so that the ribs are held in interlock with the spacers by flexure of the materials from which at least the ribs are formed. SUFIELD OF THE INVENTIONThis invention relates to a collapsible lamp shade frame and method of use.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONOne of the problems in the construction of lamp shades is to be able to ensure ready storage and transport from the time they are constructed until they are placed into use.Lamp shades therefore have generally been of a form such that a series of shades could be nested together by placing one over the other and such a nested set was then transported.Nesting of course limits the shape of such a shade and also, in spite of nesting, the package is still of considerable dimension.
