  • Patent number: 8338839
Abstract: A solid state light sheet and method of fabricating the sheet are disclosed. In one embodiment, bare LED chips have top and bottom electrodes, where the bottom electrode is a large reflective electrode. The bottom electrodes of an array of LEDs (e.g., 500 LEDs) are bonded to an array of electrodes formed on a flexible bottom substrate. Conductive traces are formed on the bottom substrate connected to the electrodes. A transparent top substrate is then formed over the bottom substrate. Various ways to connect the LEDs in series are described along with many embodiments. In one method, the top substrate contains a conductor pattern that connects to LED electrodes and conductors on the bottom substrate.

  • Publication number: 20120314426
Abstract: A LED (Light Emitting Diode) bulb structure includes a base, a plurality of fins and a shell. One end of the base is electrically connected to a power source, and the other end of the base is used for holding a LED light source. The fins are disposed on a surface of the base. The shell encloses the fins, and the shell includes a plurality of first heat-dissipation holes and a plurality of second heat-dissipation holes. The first heat-dissipation holes are arranged around the shell and corresponding to the fins for allowing airflow entering the first heat-dissipation holes to directly pass through each of the fins corresponding to each of the first heat-dissipation holes. The second heat-dissipation holes are arranged around the shell and disposed above the first heat-dissipation holes for enabling the first heat-dissipation holes and the second heat-dissipation holes to conduct thermal convection.

  • Patent number: 8322896
Abstract: An example of this light bulb has a light emitting element (which may be an LED array) mounted on a circuit board. The circuit board is mounted on one end of a heat-conducting frame. An Edison screw or other suitable connector, for attaching the light bulb electrically and mechanically to a receptacle, is mounted on the other end of the frame. A transparent phosphor-coated ball has a flat chord face optically bonded to said array. A light-permeable globular enclosure is mounted on the frame, surrounding the ball and both homogenizing the white light output of the bulb but also concealing the yellowing unlit appearance of the remote phosphor ball centrally located within it.

Abstract: An electronic candle (10) which simulates a flickering flame is provided. The candle (10) includes a hollow shell (12), a light-emitting element (18) such as an LED and a cap member (20) having the contour of a burning flame covering the light-emitting element (18). An electromagnet is provided to swing the light-emitting element (18). The electromagnet is mounted on a bracket (26) and receives an alternating current. A holding member (40) has a dead weight (52) at one end and the light-emitting element (18) at the other end. A permanent magnet (54) is attached to the bottom of the dead weight (52) such that when an alternating current is applied to the electromagnet it creates a magnetic field for acting on the permanent magnet (54) causing the holding member (40) to swing along an axial direction of the bracket (26).
