Patent number: 7513662Abstract: A portable light intended for mounting on a garment as support includes two LED light sources spaced apart towards the rear of the portable light. A clipped base below on anchor facilitates locating a garment between the anchor and the base, and a spring action urges the base toward the anchor. A hingedly movable head for the LEDs is mounted on the housing to move to and form the housing. An opening of the housing causes a switch in the housing to move between an opened and closed position such that a circuit actives or de activates the LED lights when the head opens or closes relative to the housing.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2006Date of Patent: April 7, 2009Assignee: Pelican Products, Inc.Inventors: David H. Patent number: 7367696Abstract: A base for a lantern. The base provides a stable platform for supporting the lantern and prevents tipping of the lantern. The base may be used with fuel burning lanterns or lanterns that utilize batteries or other power sources. The base includes foldable feet. The feet fold out of a plane of the base for storage, for example, downward from the plane. The base is turned over and the feet, when folded (upward when the base is upside down), extend upward around a portion of the lantern during storage. This configuration provides convenient, compact storage of the lantern and base, so that the base may be stored with the lantern and may protect the lantern in storage.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2005Date of Patent: May 6, 2008Assignee: The Coleman Company, Inc.Inventors: Mary K. Patent number: 7354180Abstract: An illuminated sign includes a plurality of sections. Each section includes a mesh of conductors having illuminating pixels located at conductor intersections. The mesh is surrounded by a frame connected to the frame of another section. Once frame sections of the display are unfolded, the display can be supported by a structure attached to a car or other vehicle. A support structure for an illuminated display includes a base which is placed on the ground and over which the tire of a vehicle (e.g., a police car) is parked. A column extends from the base, and a display can be attached to the top of that extending column. The support structure can take the form of a collapsible stand having a trunk which is pivotally attached to a base and which contains a telescoping section.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2005Date of Patent: April 8, 2008Assignee: RKS Design, Inc.Inventors: Ravl K. Patent number: 7073926Abstract: A stand-supported light source includes a combination of collapsing, telescopic and flexible joint couplings. For storage and shipping, a plurality of legs are collapsible to become longitudinally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the base. A telescopic arm coupled to the stand may also be pivoted into a longitudinally parallel axis and then telescopically retracted, which results in a very compact configuration. In use, the telescopic arm may be extended through a range of positions, and may pivot out of parallel with the stand base longitudinal axis, permitting the light source to be located through a wide and precisely controlled range of motion. The legs are pivoted and self locking at a limited range of motion, simplifying set-up. A special clamp accepts a standard trouble light, without inhibiting access to or use of the various electrical switches and outlets that might typically be found on the trouble light. Different embodiments detail the pivot, clamp and various combinations.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2004Date of Patent: July 11, 2006Inventors: Bernard J. Kremers, Cynthia M. Kremers
