The footprint of the lamp base has two sides that form a ninety-degree angle for flush insertion in the corner. A post or other structure attached at its lower end to the base supports a luminaire at its furthest end. The base, post or support structure[[,]] and luminaire have an ornamental design that is are either symmetric with respect to a vertical plane that bisects the ninety-degree angle of the base, or exhibits exhibit balanced asymmetry with respect to the said bisecting plane, as understood by persons skilled in the art. Rectangular lamp bases are excluded by failure either to economize floor space or to meet the above symmetry requirements.

Abstract: An electric lighting device which simulates the look of a wax candle. The device includes a body formed of relatively high melting temperature candle wax. A longitudinal channel runs between a top portion and a bottom portion of the body. In the bottom portion radial channels provided between the longitudinal channel and the circumferentional surface of the body. These channels provide ventilation to the candle body when the lighting device is in operation. A fix unit is also provided which has openings adapted to a line with the channels in the body so that air circulation is maintained when the candle body is placed in the base unit.

A plurality of retainers are placed in the receiving space to clamp the power cord in the receiving space along the longitudinal direction.

Abstract: An anchor structure for a lampstand includes a wedging slot and an elastic base plate located below the wedging slot in parallel with the wedging slot. The wedging slot has an opening for clamping a board at a desired location where the lampstand is to be mounted. The wedging slot may be pushed to fully clamp the board to form a secured anchoring for the lampstand. The invention has a simple structure and can greatly reduce the production cost.

Abstract: The invention is a small, portable illumination device which is used to illuminate reading material or other material. The device contains a clip which a user can employ to attach the device to a book or other reading material. The clip holds the illuminating device in place relative to the material. The device uses either battery or alternating current as power and can be switched from one to the other by insertion or removal of a male plug of a 120V AC/DC adapter into or from a jack in the device. The device can be turned on or shut off when a user switches the ON-OFF switch. In addition, there is a countdown timer which the user can set to a desired number of minutes. Once the countdown timer starts, the device will illuminate the material for the number of minutes to which the user set the countdown timer. When the countdown timer reaches zero, the device shuts off automatically. A buzzer sounds when the countdown timer reaches two minutes.

Fastening sections having insertive holes are punch molded at bottom ends of the frame members. Abstract: The invention is an illumination assembly for illuminating a large outdoor playing field with zero candela intensity at an angle of ninety degrees above nadir. The invention includes a support-receiving portion, a luminaire coupled to the support wherein each luminaire achieves full cut-off, and wherein each luminaire is coupled to the support in a way that the illumination assembly achieves full cut-off. The invention is also a method of enabling the reduction of light pollution in an outdoor environment by using at least one full cut-off luminaire. The invention is also embodied as a lighting system for illuminating a large outdoor playing field with zero candela intensity at an angle of ninety degrees above nadir, using a plurality of full cut-off illumination assemblies placed in predetermined locations about the playing field.

The first line is routed over the second axle and looped back to and over the first axle; the second line is routed over the second axle only. The ribbon torsion spring has a tension rating that permits easy manual positioning of the light fixture.

Abstract: A double lamp table or floor lamp lighting system has a pair of compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) or other lamps arranged vertically, i.e. one lamp above the other, with a reflective septum in between. By selectively turning on one or both of the CFLs, down lighting, up lighting, or both up and down lighting is produced. The control system can also vary the light intensity from each CFL. The reflective septum ensures that almost all the light produced by each lamp will be directed into the desired light distribution pattern which is selected and easily changed by the user. In a particular configuration, the reflective septum is bowl shaped, with the upper CFL sitting in the bowl, and a luminous shade hanging down from the bowl. The lower CFL provides both task lighting and uniform shade luminance. Planar compact fluorescent lamps, e.g. circular CFLs, particularly oriented horizontally, are preferable. CFLs provide energy efficiency.

Abstract: An improved garden lamppost of the plunger rod type for outdoor use is disclosed. The present invention primarily uses the C type light bulbs mounted on the top of the lamppost to seal the top opening of the pole body to prevent the penetration of rain water. Thus it is more suitable for outdoor use. Further, the larger C type light bulbs also provide better illumination in comparison with a prior art garden lamp and so it has more practical value in use.

Abstract: The present invention relates primarily to a modular replaceable ballast as used in a table or floor lamp using a circular fluorescent lamp as the primary source of illumination. Circular fluorescent lamps have been in use for many years to provide superior operating and lighting efficiency. These lamps can provide many years of trouble free performance, obviating the need for frequent replacement that is needed by comparable wattage incandescent bulbs. The ballasts, on the other hand, have not enjoyed the same degree of success of having similar reduced failure rates. The present invention utilizes a plug-in replaceable electronic ballast which can easily be replaced by a novice person. Because this ballast is plugged into a compatible adapter receptacle, the need for dismantling or disassembling the fixture is thereby obviated. The plug-in electronic ballast has two centrally located pins that insert into the newly designed modular receptacle.

Abstract: The outdoor lighting comprises a stem, a socket disposed in the top of the stem for retaining a halogen lamp, a socket housing, a diffuser lens and a reflector top. The socket housing has a lower cylindrical portion having a first inner diameter for fitting over the outer diameter of the upper part of the stem, a second cylindrical portion having a second inner diameter larger than the first inner diameter adapted to closely fit over the outer diameter of the cylindrical diffuser lens. The lower cylindrical portion of the socket housing has a slot extending upward from its bottom edge with a width greater than a diameter of a locking screw that is screwed into a bore in the side of the stem.

The fixing elements have clamping ends which engage at least partially around the stem and which can be operated by hand between a clamping position and a loosening position. In one embodiment, the clamping elements are each formed as clamping sleeves which embrace the stem annularly and have open ends which have flanges which can be moved toward each other by a finger grip in order to achieve the clamping action. Abstract: An apparatus for integrating and modifying light output of strobe-based and continuous light sources. A light-modifier housing made to accept variety of commercially available lights typically used in photography lighting. The output of these lights is channeled in a uniform way for illuminating an area or subject to be photographed. Multiple light units can be mounted onto the modifier. A light, preferably the center one, can be removed and substituted with camera for shadowless lighting effect. With interchangeable adapter plates, different manufacturer's lights such as strobe lights or constant lights, are quickly mounted onto the modifier. Highly reflective paneling is used to line the inside surfaces as well as the inner side of the adjustable louvers (barndoors). These combination results in a system offering maximum, uniform, light output with high degree of controllability. The light weight modifier can be mounted on user supplied studio stands or inverted from ceiling mounts.

The tray may serve also as a beverage cup holder. The CD holder can also be provided with a beverage cup holder which attaches to the top of the CD holder via glue and a leg/aperture coupling. The top of the CD holder beverage cup holder includes a plurality of concentric interspaced raised surfaces to provide frictional support for a beverage cup.
