Abstract: The present invention relates to a safety shield or protective cover for halogen lamps particularly halogen floor lamps, whereby the protective safety shield is mounted within an inverted shade device so that flammable objects are prevented from coming in contact with a very hot lighted halogen bulb. The safety shield comprises a substantially rectangular wire framework defined by an arcuate wire support base member that is fixedly attached to a halogen lamp fixture, and wherein the wire support base member includes at least two arcuate rod members transversely affixed thereto so as to cover the halogen lamp fixture, thereby preventing any foreign material from coming in contact with the halogen lamp bulb.

Abstract: A table lamp comprises a lamp stand comprising a pair of identical truncated cones, wherein one of the two truncated cones is oppositely engaged with the other, a truncated cone shaped lamp shade for being fitted into the top of the lamp stand bottom, and a bulb socket assembly comprising a socket, a ring and a light bulb wherein the socket is inserted from the bottom of one truncated cone through the central hole thereof and the corresponding central hole of the other truncated cone, thereby the female screw thread of the ring cooperates with the male screw thread of the socket for threadly securing the socket and two truncated cones.

Abstract: A laser pointer including a hexagonal laser module case holding a laser module for projecting a laser beam, a hexagonal battery case longitudinally spaced from and connected to the laser module case by connecting plates and having a point at the bottom for aiming at a reference point on the ground during a correction of vertical alignment, a rack having a center block with a conical top tip supported between the laser module case and the battery case, and three equiangularly spaced legs respectively pivoted to the rack outside the battery case, the legs having a respective longitudinal outer plane, which is disposed in parallel with the laser beam of the laser module when the legs are collapsed, and a level mounted on the longitudinal outer plane of one leg for determining, or adjusting the longitudinal outer plane of the respective leg on, an even horizontal plane.

Abstract: Disclosed is a supporting structure associated with a base of a candle lamp for internally reenforcing a plastic figure-form shell of the candle lamp. The supporting structure includes a long hollow tubular member and a sleeve member. The tubular member has an enlarged top portion for receiving a lamp socket therein and a lower end for inserting into an upper portion of the sleeve member. The sleeve member has a lower connecting portion for associating with a lamp base. Thereby, a plastic figure-form shell of the candle lamp can be put over the supporting structure without easily becoming deformed or bent after assembly.

Abstract: A desk lamp including a tripod including a fixing plate and three supporting legs, an electrical socket fixedly mounted in a center hole of the fixing plate, a light bulb fitted in the electrical socket, and an inverted conical lampshade having a lower end fixedly engaged with the electrical socket, whereby the desk lamp can be easily assembled by the consumer.

Abstract: A lamp base and a lamp base kit having component parts capable of being compactly packaged and quickly and easily assembled into a lamp base by a customer. The lamp base kit includes three separate connectors respectively having internally threaded openings therein and includes a pair of tubes respectively having externally threaded portions on the ends thereof which are adapted to respectively threadedly engage with the threaded openings in the connectors when the lamp base is assembled to establish a pole. The lamp base further includes a stand, and a lamp and shade holder which respectively have fixedly attached thereto one of the connectors. The stand includes three disconnected legs and a mounting hub. Each of the legs has a recessed socket and a hole through one end thereof. The recessed sockets of the legs are adapted to respectively receive pins which are fixedly attached to the hub. Each of the legs in addition has a hole therethrough.

Abstract: A three-dimensional scenery lamp includes a housing with a display chamber defined therein which is bounded on one side by an opening permitting user viewing of an interior region of the chamber from outside of the housing. A platform is mounted interiorly of the chamber and is capable of supporting a plurality of objects thereon for providing three-dimensional scenery within the interior region of the chamber. A light source is disposed interiorly of the chamber for selectively illuminating the platform, and a sound producer is mounted within the housing which is capable of producing music in association with the viewing of objects on the platform. Preferably, the platform is supported for rotation and at least one other scenery platform is provided, the platforms being interchangeable with one another for varying the scenery in the chamber.

Abstract: A stand-alone electric lamp which includes a base and a general area light source affixed an opposite end of one of a pair of stems to provide general area lighting. Disposed on the stems intermediate the base and the general area light source is a support member in the form of an elongated plate. The other of the stems terminates at the plate. Extending from the plate is an arm which has attached to its end a light source for providing task lighting directable to specific areas. The arm has a pair of flexible sections disposed therein to allow the task light to be adjustable to direct the light therefrom to the desired area.

Abstract: A mounting system for luminaire assemblies includes a mounting fixture which can be inserted into a tubular pole and secured therein without the need for complicated fasteners or tools. Specifically, the mounting fixture includes a cylindrical fitting with a tapered threaded section in which the depth of the groove forming the threads decreases upwardly along the fitting. A generally circular wire clip is seated within the tapered groove and upon rotation of the fitting relative to the tubular pole an end or detent of the clip engages the inner surface of the pole thereby prevent rotation of the clip. Continued rotation of the fitting relative to the pole advances the clip upwardly in the threaded section toward the more shallow portions of the groove thereby forming a friction fit between the expanding clip, the mounting fixture and the pole.

Abstract: A pivoted head lighting device for illuminating exhibit and display panels, display objects and work surfaces with substantially uniform spot-free spread of light. The device includes an elongated metal shell structure having an upper corner transition section and a lower front opening bearing a glass lens, a high intensity electric lamp tube positioned centrally within the shell structure, an elongated concave metallic light reflector within the shell structure between the lamp tube and upper corner transition section thereof, and an elongated support arm pivotally interconnected to the shell structure. The upper transition section includes integral internally-projecting tube gripping lip sections of semicircular configuration for holding a terminal cross-tubular swivel member for adjustable rotation therein. The internal cross-tubular swivel member is interconnected to an end of the support arm.

Abstract: A mounting bracket assembly that enables a flashlight to be retroactively coupled to an optical device such as a night vision scope. The mounting bracket assembly includes an adaptor that engages the housing of the optical device proximate the objective lens of the optical device. A bracket is provided that clamps around the adaptor, whereby the adaptor rigidly joins the bracket to the optical device. An aperture is formed through a section of the bracket. The aperture is sized to receive and retain the cylindrical body of a flashlight with an interference fit, thereby coupling the flashlight to the optical device. A threaded bore is disposed at the bottom of the bracket. The threaded bore is sized to receive the threaded connector of a tripod or other similar static support. As a result, by coupling the bracket to a tripod or similar static support, the entire optical device can be supported.

Abstract: A film movie projector and table lamp are combined so as to serve as a lamp, a projector, or both. A table lamp is supported on a support tube extending upwardly from the lamp chamber of the projector. The lamp can be wired to utilize the internal power supply of the projector by means of specifically designed electrical connectors.

Abstract: A composite floor lamp and container for the floor lamp. The floor lamp includes a main elongated main body, a top assembly which is attached to one end of the main body and a bottom assembly, including a base, which is attachable to the opposite end of the main body. A light bulb and a lamp shade are attachable to the upper end of the top assembly. The container for the disassembled floor lamp includes a box, a partition on one side of the box for holding the main body, a partition on the other side of the box for holding the top assembly, a front spacer and a back spacer. The bottom assembly is supported in an upright position at the bottom of the box between the two partitions and the two spaces and the lamp shade is supported on the bottom assembly in an inverted position.

Abstract: A self-positioning lamp fixture with an integrally formed unitary support structure, including a self righting rounded lower wall terminating in a flat portion to stabilize the lamp structure when in its upright position. A continuous cavity extends throughout the integrally formed support structure making it lightweight. A weight receiving recess is provided at the lower end having an open wall across the flat portion of the structure's lower wall to receive a cylindrical weight therein. The cylindrical weight is removable and is held in the weight receiving recess by removable lag screws. The cylindrical weight has a planar bottom wall which covers the open wall across the flat portion of the structure's lower wall when the cylindrical weight is secured in place within the weight receiving recess.

The grillwork or grating has a pleasing ornamental appearance which cast pretty shadows. For example the grillwork or grating can include an ornamental outline of vegetation, and more specifically of vines or branches having leaves or flowers.

An inner truncated-cone is received within the upper end of the lamp stand and an outer truncated-cone is fit over the upper end of the lamp stand to sandwich therebetween the upper end of the lamp stand. The bulb socket assembly includes a socket having a threaded tube mounted to the bottom thereof to insert through holes formed on the truncated-cones to be secured thereon by a nut. A lamp shade is formed by bending a fan-like sheet of flexible material to define a truncated-conic structure. The lamp shade has a plurality of holes formed thereon to receive and nut-secure thereon a threaded end of each of a plurality of harp rods of which the other ends are threadingly engaged to inner-threaded holes formed on a ring.

At the upper end of the C-shaped body there is provided a further female threaded portion engagable with a coupling attached to the lamp stand base. With the present invention, a lamp shade for a table lamp can be adapted to fit a standing floor lamp.

Abstract: Disclosed is an adjustable lamp assembly especially suitable for use as a table or desk lamp. The lamp assembly has a substantially spherical or conical base member having an adjustable center of gravity which allows it to be moved and retained in a variety of inclined and tilted positions. Also disclosed is a lamp assembly having a concave shade member having a peripheral rim and a central opening adapted to rest upon and be supported freely on the curved outer surface of a lamp bulb globe whereby the peripheral rim of the shade member will remain in a horizontal plane as the lamp assembly is tilted relative to the horizontal plane.

Abstract: A lamp assembly for an examination light has a housing and reflector with a cover that assembles into the housing. The cover has four groups of three lugs each which upon rotation of approximately forty-five degrees engage in corresponding recesses in the housing. The recesses have a ramp latch at the entrance and a stop at the exit so that the lugs can be resiliently introduced into the recesses. Once in place the lugs are locked therein and prevent unauthorized disassembly. The inherent resilience of the plastic molded housing and cover allow the necessary camming action of the ramp latch without destroying either part. Once assembled, the ramp latch and stop prevent further rotation and removal of the cover from the housing except by use of special tools. The top of the housing is provided with a hinged cap that allows a lamp and socket to be displaced from within the interior of the otherwise sealed and locked assembly.

The lamp housing is disposed within a central cavity defined by translucent frame and temple members comprising the lamp shade. The lamp housing contains a first light pointed in a generally downward direction for the production of a directed illumination. Also within the lamp housing are a plurality of incandescent lights adjacent to the frame and temple members which project light through said members to produce shaded illumination in three directions.

Abstract: A configurable furniture integrated lighting system has a plurality of interchangeable symmetric and asymmetric fixture heads for indirect lighting and a plurality of different supporting structures for supporting any one of the fixture heads at a predetermined mounting height from a variety of different support surfaces associated with the furniture system, including floor level support surfaces, desk top surfaces, book shelf surfaces, and binder bins. The described invention can be mounted virtually anywhere along the partition walls of almost any open office arrangement, with different alignments with respect to the walls being possible. Abstract: A warning lamp device comprising a base having two U-shaped stands pivotably secured thereto at the bottom, a telescopic support fastened in the base at the top through a socket joint, and a warning lamp attached to the telescopic support at the top through a socket joint. The two U-shaped stands are arranged into a cross structure to firmly support the device in place against wind force and the telescopic support is extended out to heighten the position of the warning lamp. The telescopic support and the base are collapsed to reduce space occupation when not in use.

The shade is mounted on the upper end of the bulb socket and is fixed in a threaded portion of the socket with a retaining collar. The lamp shade may be designed into various shapes, and is made of an opaque or transparent material. The lamp shade of the present invention can be mounted or dismounted easily and quickly.

Abstract: A light transmitting device includes an open ended cylindrical body with a light source mounted in the end thereof opposite the open end. A mirror is spaced from the open end, and mounted for rotation about an axis substantially perpendicular to the axis of the cylindrical body, that intersects the axis of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body may include or be mounted on a pole or other stand. At least one vent may be provided in the cylindrical body open to the gap between the body and the light source. The mirror may be mounted to also be rotatable about the axis of the cylindrical body. The components of the device are easily assembled and disassembled.

Abstract: A light fixture having a flanged upper housing, a support arm on the housing, and a reflector below the upper housing designed to dissipate heat. The reflector has an upper planar surface that fits within the flange of the upper housing. The upper planar surface has a peripheral opening extending from the edge of the upper planar surface toward the center of the upper planar surface at the side of the upper planar surface that is adjacent the support arm. An enclosure box may be placed over the peripheral opening and attached to an enclosure plate that is located at the opening of the support arm into the housing.

Abstract: The present invention provides a floor lamp of novel design in which a particular forwardly extending illuminator assembly is positioned above a particular forwardly extending base assembly by a particular telescoping tube assembly in association with a particular touch responsive electrical system. The arrangement is such that manually accessible parts of the base assembly, the illuminator assembly, and the telescoping tube assembly all are composed of metal, particularly brass or chrome plated metal. The designs of all of the these assemblies are consistent with the lamp's simplicity of construction, and communicate with each other electrically to permit touch switching of the DC electronic circuit that controls the AC electrical power input to the lamp.

A spring assembly is mounted on the lower end of the second standard and includes first and second leaf springs mounted in and diverging outwardly from one end of the second standard. The leaf springs are retained in position by deforming the end of the second standard inwardly into engagement therewith. An arcuate tip is formed on the outer end of each leaf spring for resilienly engaging the inner surface of the first standard.

Abstract: A lamp system is described of particularly graceful construction which operates with a boom consisting of flexible tube section. This arrangement makes the lamp system easy to package and simple to transport despite the large dimensions of the assembled lamp. The flexible tube sections are capable of being connected together mechanically and electrically via plug connections and can also either be directly connected to the particular lamp head or connected thereto via flexible electrical cables.

Abstract: A lamp socket and light fixture connection wherein the fixture comprises a tube receiving wiring for the socket, the tube having an abutment spaced from one end and an external screw thread on its end portion outward of the abutment, the thread defining a helical groove, the socket being adapted to be slid on the screw-threaded end portion of the tube and carrying a detent which passes by the thread to enable the socket to be slid on the end portion, the detent being engageable in the helical groove for screwing the socket into firm engagement with the abutment with limited rotation of the socket, following the sliding of the socket on the end portion.

Abstract: A novel examination light that utilizes a quartz halogen lamp and dichroic reflector to produce heat free white light, mounted on a versatile support arm that is moveable in a vertical arc through any angle about a support axes and is counterbalanced by a unique spring and friction arrangement that allows it to remain, drift free, at any location. The arm is mounted on a vertical pole affixed in a castered base and is rotatable through a horizontal circle of almost two revolutions.

Abstract: A double-lamp system comprising a conventional table lamp fixture and a spotlight fixture mounted on a table lamp base. The position of the spotlight fixture is such that a conventional drum-shaped lamp shade conceals the spotlight fixture from view, yet the spotlight beam's path is unobstructed. In the preferred embodiment, the spotlight beam may be directed as desired by moving the bulb housing laterally, by rotating the bulb housing about a horizontal axis centered on the bulb housing, or by moving the bulb housing through an arc located on the same vertical plane in which the spotlight beam path lies. The spotlight and table lamp may be operated together or separately. In the preferred embodiment, the spotlight fixture comprises a housing for a quartz halogen spotlight bulb and a transformer housing. An incandescent lamp socket, or other suitable type of socket, is integral with the transformer housing in the preferred embodiment.

Abstract: In order to be able to substantially pre-assemble the functional components of a lamp before the components of the lamp which are visible from the exterior, such as lamp shades, lamp support members and so forth are assembled thereto such that the same lamp junction can be employed for different external appearances of lamps, the lamp junction comprises a central support junction upon one or both sides of which a connection member can be mounted. Each such connection member forms a guide for an electrical connection lead and serves to rotatably support an anchorage member for a lamp shade member upon the connection member. After assembling and electrically wiring the central support junction, the connection member, the anchorage member and a lamp socket, the lamp shade member, a cover sleeve for the central support junction and the lamp support member can be subsequently mounted to the lamp junction.
