Patent number: 7806550Abstract: A lighting system has a sealable housing with a lamp cavity, a junction box and a partition wall there between with the junction box being laterally from beneath a lens opening. The system further includes a closure to close an access port in the partition wall which includes a conical wall with a circular plate truncating the wall. The plate extends across the bottom of the housing and a vertically extending sealing flange receives the closure. A ballast assembly is also located from beneath the lens opening. A formed seal is positioned about a lens which extends inwardly to capture optic components beneath the lens. A locking ring is restrained from compressing against the mounting flange of the lens. A lighting system employing an LED board array and LED power control includes a heat sink beneath the board array extending downwardly to a radiator for transfer of heat from the array downwardly to the lamp cavity for dissipation.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2007Date of Patent: October 5, 2010Assignee: ABL IP Holding LLCInventors: Glenn M. Tyson, Richard M. Schuler, Michael P. Leonhardt

Patent number: 6913374Abstract: A headlamp adjuster for adjusting the position of a reflector includes a base housing with a slide positioned at least partially therein. The base housing has mounting tabs so that the adjuster can be secured to the back of a headlamp assembly support frame. The base housing also has channels along its sides in which rails extending from the slide are disposed. A ball stud extends from the slide, the ball of which engages the reflector within the headlamp assembly such that axial movement of the ball stud causes movement of the reflector. Movement of the slide is caused by rotation of an adjustment screw that is threaded into the slide but held in axial position with respect to the base housing. The adjuster may include a vehicle headlamp aiming device (“VHAD”) if required for the particular application.” A marked-up version showing the changes is enclosed herewith in accordance with 37 CFR §1.121 (b)(iii).Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2002Date of Patent: July 5, 2005Assignee: Burton Technologies, LLCInventor: John E. Publication number: 20020015307Abstract: A dual reflector lighting system having an adjusting assembly for independently adjusting an inner reflector and an outer reflector relative to a gaseous discharge lamp. The lighting system includes a housing having a ballast assembly mounted therein. An elongated tubular adjusting member has one end thereof connected to the bottom of the housing. A lamp socket for receiving a gaseous discharge lamp is mounted to the other end of the adjusting member. The lamp socket is electrically connected to the ballast assembly. The system includes both an outer reflector and an inner reflector mounted coaxially about the gaseous discharge lamp. The outer reflector is mounted to the tubular adjusting member for movement relative thereto to adjust the outer reflector relative to the gaseous discharge lamp. The inner reflector is connected to the adjusting member for adjusting the inner reflector relative to the gaseous discharge lamp.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2001Publication date: February 7, 2002Inventor: Robson L. Patent number: 5530627Abstract: An electronic flash head for photographic lighting, or a "strobe head", contains a miniaturized circuit that is potted to protect and electrically insulate the components. The flash head is small, and has a socket so the flash tube can be replaced to take different amounts of power input. A clamp quickly fastens to the body of the flash head for connection of any desired reflector, soft box or other accessory. A tail extends from the flash head, the tail being of a size to fit into a light socket for support; and, a threaded socket in the tail allows connection of many different supporting devices to the head. The one flash head can therefore be used in almost any photographic lighting situation through selection of the support, the reflector and the flash tube.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1994Date of Patent: June 25, 1996Inventor: John J.
