The first tree section is configured to electrically connect to the second tree section, such that the first pairs of electrical terminals of the first and second tree sections conduct power of a first type and the second pairs of electrical connectors of the first and second tree sections conduct power of a second type.

Abstract: A tree top ornament with one or an array of lights, with an attachment mechanism for releasable attachment to the top branch or trunk of artificial and natural trees. The lights are connected to a sleeve designed to fit over the top vertical branch of the tree, but which is supported by a rigid conduit that clamps to the tree branch some distance below the top, so that the top of the branch does not itself bear any of the tree top ornament's weight. The user may selectively attach a variety of clear and semi clear acrylic or glass ornamental tree toppers for illumination by the lights.

In another example, two wearable apparatuses may each include an illumination device and operation of the two illumination devices may be coordinated. In a further example, operation of an apparatus may be controlled by a third party or venue. Still another exemplary system may include a capturing device for capturing a characteristic of an object and controlling an output device of an apparatus to operate with the same characteristic as the captured characteristic.

Abstract: A light system includes a housing configured to resemble any seasonal or other desired image, i.e., a star, a pumpkin, an Easter egg, a firecracker, etc. The housing includes a rear face, a front face and a peripheral frame with a light-refracting chamber formed therebetween. The peripheral frame includes a plurality of tricolor LED's mounted therein. The rear face of the housing includes a completely-reflective front surface that deflects 100% of all impacting light beams inwardly toward the front face. However, the rear surface of the front face is only partially-reflective so that only a portion of impacting light is reflected back toward the rear face; a remaining portion of impacting light exits the front face and is visible to those nearby. Accordingly, the light generated by the limited number of LED's will create an illusion that an infinite number of light beams are emanating from the housing.

Abstract: Light shades and lighting systems that create a spectral effect when a lighting element is illuminated within the shade, and features that reflect light originating within the shade. Embodiments of the invention incorporate hollow body having a diffraction grating thereon and an internal cavity to retain one or more lighting elements, and in some instances, to also retain one or more lengths of conductor.

Abstract: An illuminated, shallow weatherproof signage character has individual three dimensional back-lighted/front/side and/or silhouette-lighting, with frosted areas of plastic, with virtually no limitation on the size or number of individual characters, which may be moulded or machined from solid plastic, which is U/V protected. Miniature, preferably LED lamps are concealed in the character. The life of the LED lamps is extended by limiting the applied voltage and the “on” time. The signage characters are usually elevated from their supporting surface, to effect back-lighting. Colored LED's or a RBG LED, can be used selectively to color the plastic signage.

The light emitting tubes can hang straight under their own weight, and each are fabricated from a transparent protective sleeve, within which a plurality of the plastic optical fibers are disposed. A plurality of light spot generating windows are distributed on a circumferential surface of each of the optical fibers. A manually manipulable binding connector affixes each of the light emitting tubes to a base plate, thereby enabling the light emitting tubes to hang down, and further facilitates manually transforming structural form of the decorative lighting. Ends of the light emitting tubes are prevented from being contaminated, thus avoiding influencing or obstructing light transmission, and realizing an integrated luminescent display.

Abstract: A lighted star ornament that is freestanding, and designed for use with a nativity set. A multi-faceted star is affixed atop a telescoping support post, the bottom of which is attached to a support base housing a battery or electrical power pack. Running through the support posts are electrical wires, which connect the power source to a socket into which a lamp bulb is secured. The socket and bulb assembly fits into a hollowed space in the back center of the star. The star may be easily disassembled from the socket assembly and reattached to it. An on/off switch operates the light on the star. The star can have points or five points, or any number of points desired.

In a preferred embodiment, the sources include an incandescent source extending across the visible spectrum and a light emitting diode source which emits essentially red light, and control of the color rendering index is effected by controlling the relative amounts of light from the two sources reaching the lighting head. A star-shape member containing bulbs therein is attached to the top supporting ring. A number of supporting rings arranged separately in the same axis with the top supporting ring. Each supporting ring has a different diameter and the diameter of the supporting rings increases from the top supporting ring to the bottommost supporting ring. A wire net attached with numerous bulbs is attached and fixed on the supporting rings making the decorative light net looks like a Christmas tree.

One end of each strip is fastened to the corresponding end of an adjoining strip. When all the star pieces are end-coupled, they form a topological loop. Other two and three-dimensional omni-directionally-illuminating lighting fixtures are possible, such as in the shape of crosses and stars and the six-pointed metal object used in the game of jacks.
