  • Patent number: 9910310
Abstract: Anisotropic film laminates for use in image-preserving reflectors such as rearview automotive mirror assemblies, and related methods of fabrication. A film may comprise an anisotropic layer such as a light-polarizing layer and other functional layers. The film having controlled water content is heated under omnidirectional pressure and vacuum to a temperature substantially equal to or above a lower limit of a glass-transition temperature range of the film so as to be laminated to a substrate. The laminated film is configured as part of a mirror structure so as to increase contrast of light produced by a light source positioned behind the mirror structure and transmitted through the mirror structure towards a viewer. The mirror structure is devoid of any extended distortion and is characterized by SW and LW values less than 3, more preferably less than 2, and most preferably less than 1.

  • Patent number: 8410708
Abstract: A dual colored LED decoration lamp which includes a lamp string combined of multiple dual colored LED lights and a controller connected between the power supply and the lamp string. The lamp string includes lamp groups combined of multiple LED lights with two different colors and with their anodes and cathodes cross-linked. The multiple lamp groups are then connected in series, and each LED light in every lamp group is connected in same direction with the same colored LED light in the next lamp group. The controller controls the variation of the direction of current in aforementioned lamp strings. Thus, the lamp string is able to emit light with different colors by varying the current direction in the same lamp string through the usage of controller, and there is no need to set with multiple lamp strings.

Abstract: A decorative holographic ornament has a body of generally clear or translucent hard plastic or similar material, of a size suitable for use as a tree ornament or the like. Molded holographic film is applied to the inside surface of the ornament, so that it is protected by the plastic body. An inner wire spool or core is supported in the center of the ornament, and LED wire is wrapped through or around the core. When the LED lights on the LED wire are illuminated, holographic images of the LEDs are generated and visible from the outside of the ornament with a pleasing “three-dimensional” aesthetic effect.

  • Patent number: 8251542
Abstract: A light system includes a housing configured to resemble any seasonal or other desired image, i.e., a star, a pumpkin, an Easter egg, a firecracker, etc. The housing includes a rear face, a front face and a peripheral frame with a light-refracting chamber formed therebetween. The peripheral frame includes a plurality of tricolor LED's mounted therein. The rear face of the housing includes a completely-reflective front surface that deflects 100% of all impacting light beams inwardly toward the front face. However, the rear surface of the front face is only partially-reflective so that only a portion of impacting light is reflected back toward the rear face; a remaining portion of impacting light exits the front face and is visible to those nearby. Accordingly, the light generated by the limited number of LED's will create an illusion that an infinite number of light beams are emanating from the housing.
