Abstract: A device for electrohydrodynamically (EHD) mixing fluids includes a mixing channel, the mixing channel having at least one supply channel fluidicly connected thereto for transport of fluid into the mixing channel. At least two electrodes are provided, at least one of the electrodes for charging at least a portion of the fluid in the mixing channel. The electrodes impose an electric field in the mixing channel to induce EHD mixing of the fluid in the mixing channel. A method for EHD mixing of fluids applies an electric field to a mixing channel to induce EHD mixing.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method is provided for injecting a fluid additive into a viscous fluid food flow stream. A fluid additive injector device is utilized to inject the fluid additive which has structure to prevent or minimize the amount of fluid additive that contacts or pools along the periphery of the fluid food flow stream. A fluid additive delivery system is provided to deliver equal amounts of fluid additive to a plurality of fluid additive injectors using a single pump without adjustable flow control apparatus.
Abstract: A static mixer for a viscous liquid for use in a chemical mechanical polishing process is provided. The static mixer is constructed of an elongated cylindrical tank, an elongated cylindrical mixing sleeve having a multiplicity of mixing apertures therethrough situated inside the tank, a plurality of curvilinear feed tubes situated at a top of the tank cavity for feeding a mixture of a viscous liquid and a solvent into the tank cavity, a spiral plate mounted on the interior surface of the tank wall extending continuously from a top wall to a bottom wall of the tank cavity, and an outlet tube that is situated at the bottom of the tank cavity inside the mixing sleeve for outputting a mixture.

Abstract: A method for continuously preparing a medium formulation mixes a diluent with a plurality of chemically incompatible concentrate solutions in such a manner that none of the ingredients of the concentrate solutions chemically react in an adverse manner. The method utilizes a static mixing chamber to add the concentrate solutions to the diluent stream sufficiently in advance of one another so that adverse chemical reactions do not occur. The method also adjusts a pH level of the diluent prior to adding any of the concentrate solutions to the diluent.

Abstract: A radial diffuser having insert rings for providing microturbulence to a paper fluid stock suspension and uniformly discharging the fluid stock via a plurality of tubes around the perimeter of the radial diffuser to a paper forming unit including a headbox. The radial diffuser comprises a cover, a main head body, an inlet feed pipe and a plurality of flexible or rigid circumferential discharge tubes. The main head body comprises either one or a pair of the co-axial ring inserts which form a fixed or variable passage or space in the chamber of the radial diffuser. The co-axial rings enhance fluid stock fiber mixing as the fluid stock flows through the radial diffuser head. The plurality of outlets around a side wall of the radial diffuser have removable housings for varying entrance coefficients to facilitate the pumping of the fluid stock suspension into the radial diffuser.
Abstract: A fluid injection and monitoring apparatus for the introduction of one or more fluid additives to a gaseous or liquid stream, and for monitoring the stream, such that the additives will be able to be introduced without providing a point of weakness in the pipeline, includes at least two pipe members extending radially into a pipeline, with each of the pipe members having a conduit for flow of a fluid additive material radially inward along the pipe members. A plurality of discharge orifices are provided in each of the pipe members on a downstream side thereof, with the plurality of discharge orifices being arranged in a spaced array along a respective pipe member for discharge of one or more additives downstream into said gaseous or liquid stream.
