Abstract: Blending particulate and liquid to make slurry for use in oilfield operations is addressed. The blender has an upwardly facing particulate expeller with a flat base, raised hub, and generally radially extending, circumferentially spaced vanes extending upwardly from the base. The vanes extend from leading edges spaced about a vane inner diameter to tips spaced about a vane outer diameter. Adjacent expeller vanes define expeller passageways therebetween. The particulate expeller does not serve as a meaningful liquid impeller and the blender does not act significantly as a pump. The expeller has a several preferred diameter, clearance, height and length dimensions and ratios. Wide, deep expeller inlets and shallow, narrow outlets enhance particulate entry and minimize expeller torque. Vane extensions impart velocity to the particulate upon contact and minimize sensitivity to particulate entry velocity. Maximized circumferential overlap of adjacent vanes reduces liquid back-flow.

Abstract: An automatic system for mixing cleansing agents with a water stream. The automatic system for mixing cleansing agents includes a activation device, electrical control unit (ECU), dispenser and mixing chamber. The activation device may be activated when a motion is detected to provide a signal to the ECU. A motor connected to a pump of the dispenser may be actuated by the ECU to dispense a cleansing agent into the mixing chamber. The cleansing agent is sucked into a pipeline by a tube and is mixed with water in the mixing chamber to produce a sudsy water exiting a water distributor.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hole-jetting type reactor and its applications, in particular to a process for the production of isocyanates by the phosgenation of aliphatic or aromatic diamines or triamines in the gas phase using this reactor. The present invention achieves a good mixing and reacting result of the gas-phase phosgenation reaction at a high temperature by improving the mixing of reactants in the reactor to reduce the possibility of forming swirls and eliminate negative pressure produced at a local jet area, which can finally reduce back-mixing and formation of solid by-products.

Abstract: It used to be difficult to automatically mix—together with ordinary pet foods—nutrients and medications as additives based on a prescription from an animal hospital according to the condition of a pet. Also, it was not easy to submit from a personal computer or a mobile phone an order for custom-mixed pet food. This system easily receives, via the Internet from a personal computer 1 or a mobile phone 2, an order for custom-mixed pet food based on a prescription sent to a custom-mixed-pet-food prescription control computer system 4 that electronically controls a mixing device 5 that automatically produces custom-mixed pet food according to mixing data specified by an pet owner's order and prescription from an animal hospital.

Abstract: An agitation system including a motor that is capable of measuring the torque output of the motor required to mix a suspension. The motor is attached to an agitator which is placed in a suspension to be measured. The agitator is placed in the suspension and the agitation system is turned on for a period of time. This period determined by the type of agitator used and the characteristics of the suspension. When the suspension is well mixed and the torque measurement on the agitator becomes stable, the agitation system is stopped. The suspension is allowed to sit without agitation for a period of time and the agitation system is started again. After a period of time the agitation system is started and the amount of torque needed to begin turning the agitator is measured.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus and method for fluid mixing, which enable mixing efficiency to be enhanced and enable a lodging impurity to be easily removed. A liquid, powder, or the like is added from a pipe 2 to a liquid flowing in a pipe 1, and the resultant liquid then passes a plurality of half-open ball valves 3A to 3C, thereby being mixed. The ball valves 3A to 3C each have angular difference ? in the position around the axis thereof. Sufficient mixing can be performed without preparing a static mixer having a complicated structure. In addition, in the case where clogging due to an impurity occurs, the valve is opened with the result that the impurity can be released.
