Abstract: An agitator may include one or more members adjustable between an expanded configuration and a compressed configuration. When the one or more members are in the expanded configuration, the agitator in a first set of two orthogonal dimensions is larger than an opening having a predetermined size. When the one or more members are in the compressed configuration, the agitator in a second set of two orthogonal dimensions is smaller than the opening having the predetermined size. The one or more members are biased to the expanded configuration in absence of external force applied to the one or more members. In use, the agitator may be inserted into a container through a neck of the container in the compressed configuration. The agitator may expand within the container so that the container does not fit through the neck of the container.

The agitator includes a rotary shaft rotatably installed in a reactor, rotor blades installed at an outer circumference of the rotary shaft and rotated with the rotary shaft to agitate a material therein, and an agitating hook constituted by a pair of members spaced apart from each other at an inner wall of the reactor and through which the rotor blades pass. Here, a gap between the agitating hook is larger at an outlet port through which the rotor blade leaves than at an inlet port through which the rotor blade enters. Since a pressure is uniformly applied from the inlet port through which the rotor blade enters to the outlet port through which the rotor blade leaves, a torsional moment applied to the agitating hook is minimized. Therefore, it is possible to improve durability of the agitating hook and increase reliability of products.

Also described are hydraulic fracturing fluids produced using fluid recovered from an oil or gas production process and treated in accordance with the methods described herein as well as systems for preparing a hydraulic fracturing fluid having, as a fluid source, fluid recovered from an oil or gas production process that has been treated in accordance with the methods described herein.

Abstract: A method of fusing a sterile drape and an agitator together for containing a slush solution in a medical device. A die, at a specified temperature, is forced against a drape and an agitator with a specified force for a specified time to form a fused area that has a shear strength that is not substantially reduced from the tensile strength of the drape itself. Additionally, the drape adjacent the fused area is not substantially weakened by the fusing of the drape to the agitator. In one embodiment, the drape is a polyurethane material and the agitator is a polycarbonate material.

Abstract: A central insert causes maximum fluid velocity to shift away from an external tube wall reducing friction losses at the tube wall. Centrifugal forces pull fluid away from a central insert wall minimizing friction at the insert wall. The insert may be used in the context of nozzles, flow tubes, vortex tubes, and other fluid pathways. In a nozzle, grooves may be added to the nozzle wall. By introducing these grooves at the exit or end of a nozzle, nucleation may be improved and cavitation may be triggered prior to a fluid entering an expansion tube. The nucleation ring may also be placed at the beginning of a nozzle such that cavitation starts within the nozzle.
