Having Specified Internal Support Structure For Internal Transfer Mechanism Patents (Class 369/30.87)
  • Patent number: 8898683
Abstract: A disc drive unit is configured with a plurality of disc drives as one unit. At least one of a pair of opposed disc drives arranged on an identical horizontal plane is provided with a tray support member for supporting a front end of a tray of the other disc drive when the tray is ejected. The tray support member is capable of protruding from the one disc drive and withdrawing into the same.

  • Patent number: 7676817
Abstract: A media drive system includes a housing and a drive unit at least partially disposed within the housing. A media handler arrangement defines a plurality of queuing positions for media objects, and a receiving area within the housing receives storage units defining at least one other queuing position. The drive system reduces latency through the use of the queuing positions to speed transfer and access to media objects.

  • Patent number: 7336570
Abstract: A disk drive apparatus for recording (writing) and/or reproducing (reading) information on an optical disk by rotating the optical disk, and adjusting the tilt angle of an optical pickup device with respect to the optical disk. A spindle chassis rotationally supports a turntable on which the optical disk is placed. A pickup chassis, rotationally supported on said spindle chassis, movably supports an optical pickup device that writes and/or reads the information to/from the optical disk and is movable toward and away from the turntable. A tilt mechanism adjusts the tilt angle of the optical pickup device with respect to the optical disk by rotating the pickup chassis with respect to the spindle chassis.

  • Publication number: 20040057349
Abstract: Herein disclosed is an optical disk driving apparatus for selectively driving a plurality of optical disks, comprising: a housing; and an optical disk driving unit accommodated in the housing, the optical disk driving unit including: a turntable for selectively retaining the optical disks; a supporting member for rotatably supporting the turntable; a base plate pivotably retained by the housing; a plurality of vibration isolators for isolating the supporting member from outside vibrations by intervening between the supporting member and the base plate; a supporting member fixing mechanism for fixing the supporting member on the base plate by preventing the vibration isolators from isolating the supporting member from outside vibrations; a base plate driving mechanism for driving the base plate to pivotably move with respect to the housing; and a cam gear for transmitting a rotation torque to each of the supporting member fixing mechanism and the base plate driving mechanism.
