Abstract: The optical information recording and reproducing device utilizing holography requires the optical system to generate the signal beam and the reference beam to be irradiated to the holographic storage medium as well as another optical system to generate the curing light beam to be irradiated to the holographic storage medium. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of backward compatibility, if the same device is used for recording or reproduction on the conventional optical discs represented by Blu-ray Disc, another optical system adaptable to recording and reproduction on these optical disks is required. This means the optical system configurations become complicated and larger in size. One solution for downsizing is to use the reference beam also as the curing light beam. Another way is sharing of optical path for curing light beam and for the reference beam. Furthermore, it is possible to share the light source for generating the curing light beam and for generating the recording or reproducing light beam.

The digital servo system, for example, can be a tracking servo system or a focus servo system of an optical disk drive.

Abstract: A multiplexing optical system includes collimator lenses, a first condensing lens, a second condensing lens and an optical fiber. The collimator lenses collimate divergent laser beams that have been emitted from semiconductor lasers. The first condensing lens condenses laser beams transmitted through the collimator lenses in only one of a plane including the stripe width direction of the semiconductor lasers and a plane including a direction perpendicular to the stripe width direction. The second condensing lens condenses laser beams transmitted through the first condensing lens. The optical fiber is arranged in such a manner that the condensed laser beams enter the optical fiber. In the multiplexing optical system, an anamorphic lens is used as the second condensing lens, and the anamorphic lens condenses the laser beams in the two planes in cooperation with the first condensing lens.

Abstract: The present invention proposes an optical head apparatus provided with light-blocking structure that can reliably prevent nonessential light from reaching the photo detector, without being an impediment to miniaturization and flattening, moreover, without increasing manufacturing cost. In an optical head apparatus, and in a lens holder, light-blocking section is provided that blocks nonessential light from passing outside the effective diameter of objective lens. This light-blocking section is constructed so that it extends only in tracking direction T of objective lens 5. Further, light-blocking face of light-blocking section slants at an angle of 1° or more toward the face orthogonal to the optical axis, consequently, nonessential light is reflected in a direction other than the direction of photo detector.
