  • Patent number: 9489946
Abstract: In an embodiment, a transcription support system includes: a first storage, a playback unit, a second storage, a text generating unit, an estimating unit, and a setting unit. The first storage stores the voice data therein; a playback unit plays back the voice data; and a second storage stores voice indices, each of which associates a character string obtained from a voice recognition process with voice positional information, for which the voice positional information is indicative of a temporal position in the voice data and corresponds to the character string. The text creating unit creates text; the estimating unit estimates already-transcribed voice positional information based on the voice indices; and the setting unit sets a playback starting position that indicates a position at which playback is started in the voice data based on the already-transcribed voice positional information.

Abstract: Provided is a technology in which a controller for controlling read/write performed to/from an optical disc includes a processor for controlling an interface, a temporary memory unit, a rotation control unit, and an optical control unit. The controller causes the processor to shift to a hibernate state when a predetermined condition is satisfied, and causes the processor to recover from the hibernate state into an active state when the interface receives a first command. The processor receives the first command from the interface, instructs the rotation control unit to drive the optical disc at a predetermined target rotational speed, instructs the optical control unit to perform a processing specified by the first command, transmits a completion notification of the first command to the interface with a delay, receives a second command after transmitting the completion notification of the first command, and executes the processing of the second command.

Abstract: When it is determined that the disc loaded on a player is a hybrid next generation DVD, the DVD layer is reproduced with a red laser light. In parallel with this reproduction process, a process for notifying the presence of the HDDVD layer is performed. That is, determination is made on whether the notification timing defined in advance has been reached. If the notification timing has been reached, a control instruction is output from a controller to an AV processing circuit, and the image information including the image notifying the presence of the HDDVD layer is output from the AV processing circuit. Thus, the user may learn that the HDDVD layer can be reproduced.

Data writing onto a disk is suspended until an amount of data equivalent to data writing capacity has been stored in the buffer memory (13). Data writing is resumed upon detection of the fact that an amount of data equivalent to data writing capacity has been stored in the buffer memory (13). A control circuit stops the recording operation part way through a block in response to a record stop command and starts the recording operation from a record stop position in response to a record start command. A parameter register stores the conversion parameter of the modulated data at the time of stopping the recording operation. The modulation circuit starts modulating data with the conversion parameter stored in the parameter register as an initial value when the recording operation is started.
