  • Patent number: 6922921
Abstract: An auger device of a snow removal machine in this invention has left and right augers and left and right driving tines mounted on left and right auger shafts, respectively. Each auger has an outer auger blade, an intermediate auger blade and an inner auger blade each mounted at one end on the left or right auger shaft. The outer auger blade and inner auger blade are arranged along a first helical path. The intermediate auger blade is arranged 180° out of phase with the first helical path. The left and right driving tines bite into snow, thereby serving as anchors for preventing lifting of the left and right augers.

  • Patent number: 5953837
Abstract: A cylindrical tank is situated on a bed of a vehicle. A tank opening is provided at a top of the tank. An agitator is provided within the tank. A heating unit such as an oil fired boiler, comprises a burner unit situated on the bed, and fire tube heating elements which longitudinally span an interior surface of the tank. Drain outlets are provided in a bottom of the tank. Discharge tubes run from the drain outlets to discharge outlets beneath the tank. Drain hoses may be connected to the discharge outlets and routed to an appropriate drainage location. A plow blade apparatus is connected to a front of the cab. The plow blade apparatus is generally trough shaped and includes a first Archimedean screw disposed longitudinally therein. An inclined trough has a low end thereof disposed next to the plow blade apparatus. The inclined trough spans from the plow blade apparatus to a high end above the tank. The inclined trough contains a second Archimedean screw disposed longitudinally therein.

  • Patent number: 5190140
Abstract: An impeller assembly having a housing supporting a rotatable impeller. The housing has a bottom entrance opening and a top exit opening separated by a curved back wall. A liner of low friction and abrasion resistant plastic material located adjacent a portion of the inside of the back wall prevents material buildup on the back wall. The liner is removeably mounted on the housing so that it can be replaced without taking the housing apart. The impeller has a plurality of pivoted paddle assemblies. Each paddle assembly has a body carrying a generally U-shaped liner of low friction and abrasion resistant material to minimize the collection of material on the paddle assemblies. The housing includes a knife adjacent the entrance opening. The body of the impeller assembly has a transverse lip that moves in close relation relative to the knife to cut material.

  • Patent number: 4819348
Abstract: The present invention relates to a ditch forming machine and is specifically concerned with providing such a machine for forming the oppositely sloping sides of a ditch in a single pass. Prior art machines could only form one side of the ditch at a time with the machine then having to be turned 180 degrees to form the opposite side thereof. The present invention overcomes these deficiency by providing a ditch forming machine which provides a pair of offset screw-auger assemblies with earth severed by the leading auger assembly being directed to the trailing auger for discharge of all severed material from the ditch during a single pass. The auger assemblies are conveniently angularly adjustable relative to each other for forming any desired angularity of the opposite sides of the ditch while conveying material discharged from the ditch a substantial distance laterally outwardly from the prime mover vehicle which is adapted to always be position on the flat ground along side the ditch being formed.
