  • Patent number: 9593470
Abstract: An earthmoving equipment bucket corner has a first portion, a second portion and an intermediate portion between the first and second portions, all in different planes to one another. A boss or lug is provided on the leading edge of the intermediate portion. The intermediate portion is angled relative to both the first and second portions, which alleviates the load stresses otherwise created in a traditional 90° corner. The first portion has a wall with a taper or bevel towards a forward edge. The second portion has a wall with a leading flared wall portion that widens the corner at the front. The intermediate portion is preferably at an included angle of around 120° to 170° with respect to the respective walls of the first and second portions.

  • Publication number: 20150135561
Abstract: A bucket assembly and a skid device and a method of manufacturing thereof has a ski-shaped member and is configured to be attachable to a front end portion of a loading bucket. Two or more skid devices can be attached to the front edge portion of the bucket to enable the bucket to move materials on the ground. Each skid device has a mounting bracket configured to be attached to the front edge portion of the bucket and has a main fastening device for securing it to the bucket and a secondary securing device comprising a retaining member that maintains the skid device on the bucket when the main fastening device becomes loose or fails. The retaining member prevents the skid device from falling off the bucket and acts as an alarm by making rattling noise. Each skid device also allows mounting of an auxiliary member that enables the bucket to carrying items longer than the width of the bucket, such as logs or posts.

Abstract: A curb shoe assembly for street grading and curb formation is provided. The curb shoe assembly includes a channel member having a front side, a back side, a bottom side and a central trough sized for receiving the bottom edge of a construction vehicle mow blade. The curb shoe further includes a grading blade which extends downward from the bottom side of the channel member. The grading blade includes a laterally extending portion and an angled portion. The angled portion includes a vertically extending edge for confronting a curb shoulder. Preferably, the angled portion is removable for replacement due to damage. The curb shoe includes a pair of straps for affixing the curb shoe's channel member to a mow blade. In addition, the curb shoe assembly includes a shoe having a horizontally extending plate. The horizontally extending plate is positioned adjacent to the grading blade so as to rest upon a street curb during operation.

  • Patent number: 7266914
Abstract: A bucket assembly is provided with a kit that includes a base plate for permanent connection to a lower part of the bucket, and sacrificial, impermanent replaceable wear edge segments for the forward lip and corner leading edges of an excavator or loader bucket. These segments form a set of “bolt on” cast wear members and wing wear segments. The base plate and wear plates are drilled and machined to accommodate the precision fitting bolting on of the replaceable lips and cast wing segments. The cast lip segments are of both left and right hand configurations and come in a variety of widths that, in combination, may tend to fit a large number of different commercially available bucket sizes. The lip top and bottom faces are shaped in a profile that may tend to result in relatively uniform wear and a reduction in friction when digging into various materials.

  • Patent number: 6213559
Abstract: A scarifying blade for use on earthmoving equipment (e.g. a road grader). The lower working edge of the blade has attached to it several spaced rotatable bits, and attached to at least one of the ends of the blade is an end rotatable bit at an angle of about 30 to 60 degrees relative to the spaced bits on the lower edge of the blade. The end bits prevent loosened material from spilling around the end of the blade and they also provide other additional advantages.

  • Patent number: 6154987
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cutting tooth for a trencher chain. The tooth includes a base portion aligned along a first plane. The base portion includes structure for allowing the cutting tooth to be connected to the trencher chain. The tooth also includes a distal portion that is generally obliquely aligned with respect to the first plane. A curved transition is located between the distal portion and the base portion. The curved transition curves away from the first plane and at least partially forms a cupped portion that extends from a leading end to a trailing end of the cutting tooth. The tooth also includes a hardened tip positioned at a region of the leading end that is located farthest from the first plane.

  • Patent number: 5680717
Abstract: An excavating bucket for rotating bucket excavators has a trough-shaped bucket having a forward edge formed by a U-shaped bucket lip. The lip has multiple shank holes and a cutting tooth in each shank hole which is removably attached to the lip. There are two sets of corner shank holes which lie on a circular line and receive a corresponding number of corner cutting teeth. Cutting portions of the corner teeth can be variously shaped so that the corner teeth can be adapted for varying cutting conditions. The cutting teeth have a weakening undercut adjacent their respective shafts so that forces acting on the teeth cause tooth deflections in the area of the recess while a remainder of the tooth, to which wear resistant layers of materials can be applied, is subjected to substantially no deflection to prevent a spalling of the wear resistant layers. An aft end of the bucket is defined by a multiplicity of side-by-side chains mounted on bars extending transversely between side plates of the bucket.
