The receiver circuit is configured for placing, at each clock cycle, each of the Q valid bits into a respective bin of Q bins each having a bin width equal to the register width B. The receiver circuit is configured for determining that the bins are full, and in response to determining that the bins are full, transferring the contents of the bins into the registers.

    Abstract: A method includes, in a transceiver (28, 160), receiving from a repeater (32, 168) a received signal that includes a desired signal for reception and an undesired replica of a transmitted signal that was transmitted from the transceiver and retransmitted by the repeater. A local copy of the transmitted signal is generated in the transceiver. The local copy is matched with the undesired replica of the transmitted signal in the received signal, by adapting the received signal while retaining the local copy non-adaptive. An interference caused by the undesired replica to the desired signal is canceled, by subtracting the local copy from the adapted received signal.

Channel quality measurement may be triggered via a data sending event on the non-primary channel such as sending a data frame on the non-primary channel. The DSM engine may perform respective quality measurements on multiple channels and store the respective quality values in a database. Time-averaged channel qualities for the channels may be computed based on the stored quality values for computing transmit power distribution of across the channels.

Thus, when a loudspeaker of a mobile device is operating and nonlinear distortions are generated by the loudspeaker or adjacent components of the mobile device in close proximity to the loudspeaker, the pre-distortion system may create one or more nonlinear cancellation signals in the network. The nonlinear cancellation signal may be combined with the linear signal sent to the loudspeaker to cancel the nonlinear distortion signal created by the loudspeaker emitting acoustic sounds from the linear signal. Thus, the nonlinear cancellation signal becomes a pre-distortion signal.

    Abstract: Many systems implement calibration schemes to measure and correct for the non-idealities. Such systems can be complex, which makes them impractical to implement since the cost can potentially outweigh the benefits of the calibration scheme. To implement efficient and effective calibration, non-idealities or errors of a system are detected, in foreground or in background, in a piecewise fashion based on, e.g., correlations of an output signal with an uncorrelated random signal, where the correlation results are processed separately for different open intervals of an error signal. Second order and third order correction terms can be easily determined based on three open intervals. In various embodiments, the calibration scheme can detect and correct for linear errors, (linear and non-linear) memory/frequency dependent errors, static nonlinearity errors, Hammerstein-style non-linearity errors, and Wiener-style non-linearity errors (cross-terms).

An echo canceller in the second of the multiple channels is trained to generate an impulse response corresponding to the received crosstalk information. For a selected segment of the system, the generated impulse response is compared to an expected impulse response for that selected segment. The determination of whether a fault exists is based on the comparison.
