  • Patent number: 10567401
Abstract: An attack detection device includes a transceiver and a processor. The transceiver receives a message from a communication device in a network. The processor calculates, according to a reception time of a first message in periodic messages that are periodically transmitted in a specified transmission cycle in the network, a reception range for a target message in the periodic messages that are received after the first message by the transceiver. When the transceiver receives a second message that is associated with information indicating that the second message is transmitted at a time interval shorter than the transmission cycle outside of the reception range after the reception time of the first message, the processor updates the reception range for a target message in the periodic messages that are received after the second message by the transceiver according to a reception time of the second message and the transmission cycle.

  • Patent number: 8750141
Abstract: Connection constraints are flooded using an extension to a routing protocol being used to control forwarding on network. Nodes maintain topology and connection database and calculate routes for connections based on the constraints. If a node is on a calculated route for a connection it will install forwarding state for the connection. Since each node has a consistent view of the network topology and has been provided with the constraints associated with the connection, each node on the network will calculate the same route for the connection. When a failure occurs, the nodes will calculate restoration paths for the connections on a network-wide priority basis to enable restoration paths to be created for the affected connections without requiring the restoration paths to be signaled. Time-stamps are used to allow events to be applied by nodes in a consistent order regardless of the order in which they arrive.

Abstract: Multicast signals are transmitted from a source to user terminals via multicast paths through a set of nodes in a network. A first node, such as a ‘last-hop’ router, may send toward the source corresponding join and prune messages, the join message to establish a new multicast path from the source to a user terminal, and the prune message to discontinue the old multicast path from the source to the user terminal. The router sends the join message and the prune message over the new multicast path and the old multicast path. A second node located at the bifurcation of the new multicast path and the old multicast path detects the reception of both the join message and the prune message and steers, either directly or via delegated downstream nodes, the switch from the old multicast path over to the new multicast path without loss or undue duplication of packets sent from the source to the user terminal.

  • Patent number: 8040874
Abstract: A method, a system, a server, and a computer program product are provided for Multimedia Capability discovery of different user terminals. Unnecessary use of the radio interface is avoided based on a network storage, which is accessible without registration to find out about the calling as well as the called user's multimedia capabilities during a voice call. If there is a positive capability discovery result out of this for both users, the system sends a message to each of the user terminals that they should notify the users, e.g., by displaying an icon above a soft button. There is no need for establishing a packet switched session, which uses a lot of radio interface signalling, until the Multimedia Service capability of both subscribers and their user terminals is investigated and responded to both user terminals and their users.

  • Patent number: 8004993
Abstract: To relay messages in a time-controlled communication system with a star coupler arranged as a multirouter, messages arriving via ports are relayed according to a rule defined in the star coupler. Relaying paths are switched according to a rule defined in the star router which describes relaying paths for messages, namely in the synchronized operating state depending on the time according to the global time basis of the communication system. Two relaying paths can occur simultaneously in at least one time slot whereby they are in disjunction to one another. Each port belongs to only one relaying path respectively at any time. A check is conducted on the basis of a message's content as to whether the relaying of the message complies with an acceptance rule. Relaying of the message to those target ports which do not match the rule is cancelled or ended under the invalidation of the message.
