Abstract: A multipurpose dual-network router includes a housing that houses a motherboard formed of a PC board carrying a set of electronic devices, a power module and an antenna module. The motherboard is connectable to the internet and PSTN, providing data group filtering, data group forwarding, call-waiting priority leveling, encryption, compression and firewall functions and having multiple ports for the connection of one or a number of same or different applicable products, each port having an ID set subject to TCP/IP for interlinking, function switching or dialing a call. When connected to the internet and PSTN, multiple main units are allowed for one-way direct call. Thus, one single module of the invention provides stronger function than a combination of conventional products.

  • Patent number: 7773980
Abstract: A method for transferring data based on an event function is provided. The method includes receiving an event function from an event initiator. The event function is distributed to one or more destinations associated with event performers. A response message is received as a function of destination and time. It is determined whether the time is less than or equal to a limit time, and it is further determined whether an event parameter is greater than or equal to an event constant if the time is less than or equal to the limit time. Data is transferred from a data origination system accessible by the event initiator to a data destination system accessible by the event performer if the event parameter is greater than or equal to the event constant and if the time is less than or equal to the limit time.

  • Patent number: 7764668
Abstract: If interaction between signaling gateways frequently occurs, it is possible that extended processings are executed redundantly on a path of signaling messages. To avoid such a redundancy, a consistent method is necessary for deciding a signaling gateway to execute an extended processing from among the signaling gateways. The signaling gateways, each time they receive a signaling message, calculate information about a path through which it is transferred. By passing the path information in addition to the signaling message to an extended processing program, the signaling gateways decide whether to execute the extended processing on the signaling gateways, on a session basis. A signaling gateway that has executed an extended processing adds information indicating a processing status to the signaling message to notify other signaling gateways of it.

Abstract: The present invention provides systems, methods, and apparatus for semi-stateless scalable and distributed management of telephone hunt group features in a PBX. In particular, the invention conducts an auction-like phone call handling process in which phone handling decisions are partially delegated from a central resource to the individual client agents. Briefly, phone handling functions offer available call to agents who then decide which available calls to handle. This auction-like process is preferably implemented using broadcast (or multicast) messaging features so that system components do not need to know or access global state information. Messaging is preferably built on a selected instant messaging protocol.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided that support enhanced international dialing in cellular systems using handset based code dialing. According to one aspect, the handset analyzes the dialed digits before sending the dialed number to the network. If the dialed digits begin with the country code of the area from which the call is placed, the country code will be removed and a national access code will be added in front of the digit strings. For international calls the dialed number may begin with a + indicator, followed by a country coded, an area code, and a customer number. The digit string is automatically translated into a new number based on the numbering plan of the area in which a call is being placed. The new number can then be sent to the network to set up the call.

Abstract: A method for performing packet loss concealment of lost packets in Voice over IP (Internet Protocol) speech transmission. Statistical n-gram models are initially created with use of a training speech corpus, and then, packets lost during transmission are advantageously replaced based on these models. In particular, the existence of statistical patterns in successive voice over IP (VoIP) packets is advantageously exploited by first using conventional vector quantization (VQ) techniques to quantize the parameter data for each packet with use of a corresponding VQ index, and then determining statistical correlations between consecutive sequences of such VQ indices representative of the corresponding sequences of n packets. The statistic n-gram predictive models so created are then used to predict parameter data for use in representing lost data packets.

Abstract: Synchronizing audio and video streams in packet-based networks requires synchronization of packet timestamps. The present invention provides such synchronization without resort to a network time standard. One of the signals, for example, the audio signals, is mixed first while preserving the original audio timestamps. The preserved timestamp information is then used to synchronize the timestamps of the unmixed signals, in this example the video signals, to provide synchronization of all signals. In another embodiment, the present invention uses packets containing calibration of timestamps to reduce jitter. • Patent number: 7558220
Abstract: A method and device for providing a communication or chat session with a plurality of users, in particular for mobile radio networks according to Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) or Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) standards. A first user starts a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) session requesting an Internet Protocol (IP) address at the network. The first user then sends an initiation message including the IP address to a plurality of other users which preferably are selected from a mobile station's telephone book. Addressed users also request IP addresses at the respective networks and send a reply including the respective IP address via GPRS to the first user. After receiving at least one reply, the first user activates a chat session and all participants can exchange messages, preferably text and images, via GPRS or another packet switched service.

  • Patent number: 7505578
Abstract: Load balancing between agents in a network skillset has become a particular problem. Not only is there a need to ensure efficient use of agent resources in the network skillset but increasingly labor law and union requirements mean that work must be shared between agents in an equitable manner. A source contact node in a network of contact centers requests nodal longest idle agent information from the other contact centers in the network. Using this information a network longest idle agent is identified and the incoming contact routed to that agent. A reservation system is used in combination with the longest idle agent information in order to prevent dropped contacts and to ensure equal sharing of work between agents in a network skillset. Contact center servers are linked over a separate network, isolated from a network linking the contact center switches.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an 802.1X protocol-based multicasting control method. According to the method, an authenticated subscriber intercepts the message while sending a request message for joining in a multicasting group, then obtains the port and MAC address information from the intercepted message, searches corresponding subscriber account information from the authenticated data according to said port and MAC address, then authenticates the subscriber's account number and multicasting IP address, and adds the subscriber to the multicasting group after successful authentication; therefore, controlled multicasting, authentication of the legality of adding to multicasting, and accounting can be achieved according to the method, which can also protect existing investment and compatibility with existing software of the subscriber.

  • Patent number: 7496049
Abstract: A technique for improving accuracy in an inventory containing assets associated with a network. Information pertaining to computer devices connected to a specified network is updated. Each device sends packets through at least one router in a set of routers, and each packet contains an element uniquely identifying its sending computer device. An inventory is maintained that identifies at least some of the computer devices as assets of an entity associated with the network. Data is acquired from ARP caches that are located within the routers. The acquired cache data is processed to detect all of the identifying elements that identify computer devices of the group. A database is constructed from information in the cache data that pertains to the detected identifying elements. Information contained in the database is compared with information contained in the inventory to update the inventory.

  • Patent number: 7486628
Abstract: Currently, networks are used within most enterprises to allow for sharing of resources such as printers and to allow for central server features to be available such as backup operations, shared files, and internal email. With the introduction of the third generation of wireless communication networks in which a mobile station can have an always on capability, private networks can now be established between mobile stations. In these implementations, the mobile stations each have a Home Location Registration (HLR) and a unique Internet Protocol (IP) address. The mobile stations within a private network are listed within a table stored in the intelligent peripheral by their HLRs. The intelligent peripheral regulates the flow of data units within the wireless network by determining if the sender of a packet and the intended recipient are within the same private network.
