Transmit/receive Interaction Control Patents (Class 370/278)
  • Patent number: 11160038
Abstract: Various aspects are described for an enhanced power headroom report (PHR) for feeding back beamformed sounding reference signal (SRS) power scaling. Beamformed SRS along directions where a user equipment (UE) can best nullify interference/maximize downlink (DL) signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) would be very helpful for DL beamforming. SRS beamforming requires additional support, if rank related decisions are being made at eNB. For example, power normalization factors need to be sent or reported on the uplink (UL) to eNB. This disclosure provides examples of how the PHR on the uplink can be used to do such reporting. There are two types of PHR being proposed, one nominal for the UL-oriented SRS, like LTE-style PHR, and one for the DL-oriented SRS where the UE also reports or indicates the power normalization factors of each SRS port.

  • Patent number: 10756786
Abstract: Isolation for antennas in a wireless communication system is achieved between transmit and receive paths for a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna array by separating a first transmit path from an associated receive path to be matched with a second transmit path and matching the first receive path with the second receive path. It is expected that the two transmit paths operate on sufficiently different frequencies that there is minimal interference there and the additional spacing from the transmit path to the receive path will reduce interference therebetween without increasing a footprint of the antenna array.

  • Patent number: 10756863
Abstract: Techniques for transmitting reference signals (RSs) having respective signal patterns in the coding chain to improve performance of multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) communication systems are presented. For downlink transmissions, an RS management component (RSMC) of a network node can determine a first resource element (RE) pattern for RSs of a first cell and a second RE pattern for RSs of a second cell in the time, frequency, or code domain RSMC can utilize an adaptive interleaver in the coding chain to improve performance of MIMO systems. RSMC can facilitate configuring user equipment (UE) about the interleaver at the RE domain or as part of virtual resource block (VRB)-to-physical resource block (PRB) domain. RSMC can thereby reduce interference on RSs from other co-channel RSs, thereby improving channel estimation performance for channel-state-information estimation and data detection by the UE, and achieving significant gains in link and system throughputs.

  • Patent number: 10756421
Abstract: A matching network system combined with a circulator, and a method thereof are provided. In the matching network system and method, a reflection coefficient per frequency, required to cancel a signal leaked (a leakage signal) from a port combined with an antenna (an antenna port) is calculated, an impedance value is calculated from the calculated reflection coefficient, and any antenna is matched to a matching network by using a matching network circuit for changing an impedance value of the antenna to the calculated impedance value. Therefore, cancellation of the leakage signal is controlled. In this manner, the isolation performance of the circulator in a plurality of frequencies can be increased.

  • Patent number: 10742334
Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for measuring inter-RU interference in order to perform space division duplex communication in a wireless communication system. Specifically, a terminal acquires first interference information indicating the strength of inter-RU interference after analog interference cancellation, and second interference information indicating the strength of inter-RU interference before analog interference cancellation. The terminal determines whether space division duplex communication can be performed between RUs, by comparing the interference strength indicated by the first interference information with a first threshold. The terminal determines whether inter-RU interference needs to be periodically measured, by comparing the interference strength indicated by the second interference information with a second threshold.

  • Patent number: 10660085
Abstract: Communicating wireless devices collaborate and utilize waveforms to enable secure channel estimation. To protect against a repetitive replay attack, some embodiments include Single Carrier Physical Layer (SC-PHY) waveforms and/or interpolated OFDM waveforms that do not include a repeatable or predictable structure. The waveforms are transmitted in ranging packet structures that are compatible with legacy 802.11 technologies that do not utilize secure channel estimation. The ranging packets are received in combination with the information previously exchanged to enable the receiving wireless system to securely determine a channel estimate (e.g., determine a channel estimate without an interloper transmission that is not an authentic first arrival path in a multi-path channel between the wireless systems). Thus, one or both of the wireless systems can estimate the distance between them (or range). Devices utilizing legacy 802.
