Signaling For Performing Battery Saving Patents (Class 370/311)
  • Patent number: 11930509
Abstract: A wireless device receives, from a base station, one or more radio resource control messages indicating: a first value of a first bandwidth part (BWP) inactivity timer for a first cell, and a second value of a second BWP inactivity timer for a second cell. A downlink control information (DCI) is received, via the first cell, indicating a set of sidelink resources for sidelink transmission via the second cell. In response to the DCI, the first BWP inactivity timer is restarted based on the first value. A transport block, of the sidelink transmission, is transmitted via a sidelink resource of the set of sidelink resources. In response to transmitting via the sidelink resource, the second BWP inactivity timer is restarted based on the second value.

Abstract: Current wireless networks do not allow machine type communication (MTC) devices to have long discontinuous reception (DRX) cycles or sleep lengths. A long DRX cycle may allow MTC systems and devices to operate with much longer DRX/Sleep cycles/periods. This may facilitate the MTC operations for infrequent system access or infrequent system reaching (e.g. paged once in a week) with no or low mobility and may allow MTC devices to sleep for a long time with low power consumption.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for obtaining a UE counting result. The method includes: establishing, by the UE, a RRC connection; sending a UE counting response via the RRC connection; or, sending, by the UE, a RRC establishing message, and configuring a reason of establishing the RRC as MBMS UE counting. The present disclosure also provides a method for obtaining a UE counting result, a method and apparatus for suspending data transmission. By using the present disclosure, when the UE needs to receive the GCSE service, the MCE may obtain a correct counting result and not make wrong decision no matter whether the UE is in the RRC connected mode or in the idle mode. Therefore, the UE does not need to establish the point-to-point channel, and interruption of the data transmission and unnecessary power consumption are avoided.
