Abstract: A method for reducing power consumption of a terminal that communicates with a base station in a mobile communication system using a multi-carrier structure composed of a primary component carrier and at least one secondary component carrier comprises: receiving a discontinuous reception (DRX) parameter group for multi carriers from the base station; and setting the multi carriers to the same parameter value, by using the received parameter group. The method for reducing power consumption of the terminal further comprises: performing a downlink control channel receive operation on each carrier according to a DRX cycle. As the base station in the mobile communication system using the multi-carrier structure simplifies the DRX process for reducing power consumption of a terminal by reducing signaling load for the multi-carrier control of the terminal, it becomes possible to reduce power consumption of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 11516826
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for signaling for semi-static configuration in grant free uplink transmissions. Radio resource control (RRC) signaling is used to provide information from a base station to a user equipment (UE) that configure the grant free transmission resource to be used by the UE. In some implementations, the RRC signaling may be used in conjunction with system information that is transmitted to all UEs and/or Downlink Control Information (DCI) that the UE needs to access subsequent to the RRC signaling. In some implementations, the DCI includes an activation or deactivation indicator that the UE monitors to determine when the UE is allowed to transmit to the BS or should stop transmitting. Implementations allow for grant free transmission resources to be configured on an individual user based and a group basis.

  • Patent number: 11510274
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for proactive wake-up beam management for connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) operation. For example, a user equipment (UE) monitor one or more synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) or reference signals received associated with a set of wake-up beams from a network entity. The UE may further determine that the set of wake-up beams satisfies a distress condition. The UE may additionally transmit a distress indication to the network entity based on determining that the set of wake-up beams satisfies the distress condition. Aspects described herein also provide a network entity that receives a distress indication from the UE in response to transmitting a set of wake-up beams and transmits a subsequent set of wake-up beams having at least one wake-up beam different not included in the set of wake-up beams to the UE.
